^The last time I saw that symbol on this artist’s work was when they sketched an Iname Call of Cthulu au. So it’s likely that’s the Elder sign from the game. It’s supposed to ward off/protect from the Great Old Ones, in this case I guess it’s for Ao-chan.

^Nobunaga assumed the one clinging to her is Okita, I guess it’s assumed that it’s done frequently enough for that to happen. They also take clinging onto people as childish, maybe?

^From the little that I’ve retained from the novel it’s a hesitant nnnooo. I read it a while ago but I don’t recall there ever being a ship in at least the first 3 novels. There could’ve been changes in the anime, I haven’t gotten around to watching it yet.
