Is this an actual ship there, cause I'm hesitant in watching the anime.

^From the little that I’ve retained from the novel it’s a hesitant nnnooo. I read it a while ago but I don’t recall there ever being a ship in at least the first 3 novels. There could’ve been changes in the anime, I haven’t gotten around to watching it yet.

Based on just the anime so far, Saya is openly thirsty (especially when she can't lie) but it definitely seems like a one sided thing. I'd still recommend the anime though.

Elaina is Saya's crush. No doubt. The anime is very clear about this and even uses it for humour development. But Saya is, at least, someone very special to Elaina too.
In the last episode, we can see that Elaina not only ACCEPT Saya's present (the matching pendant) but she USES IT all the time.
When Saya investigates about that kingdom where nobody can lie, Elaina helps her without she even ask. Taking in account how narcissistic Elaina is, and how she's careful about being involved with something, that is very interesting.
