Oh god. All this sudden talk about the author saying this isn't going to be yuri has reawakened memories of the "Budokan" dumpster fire.

If the problem is between shoujo ai and yuri (for whatever reason being assumed to mean pornographic), then for me the situation is rather cut and dry. The shoujo ai tag is as rife with abuse as the souls tag is on Steam. In many of the cases of shoujo ai tagged manga I've read most, if not all, of them have been serious cases of bait and switch and you could go through them with without ever seeing a single confession, romantic date, or actual kiss (we're talking on the lips, no quick peck on the cheek or forhead). In a lot of cases, the characters don't end up together but end with being "just very close friends", if sometimes even that. I wouldn't trust a shoujo ai tag one bit.

Yuri however is very specific on what your going to get: a light, fluffy, "moe as f" romance with hand holding, kissing, and if your really lucky, maybe even a kabedon. I think if someone's going into yuri expecting graphic porn/50 shades nonsense then they're not checking the right websites for their manga.

Yuri delivers, shoujo-ai is about as reliable as calling Romance of the Three Kingdoms a BL novel.

That said, if this does turn into a total bait and switch, I will be sorely disappointed. Especially after how obvious the author has gone to make them clearly be romantically attracted to each other.

That all being said, I really hope someone has the wherewithal to get this book licensed in the US.

I presume at this point, the physical version will not be available in English?

"due to working on the book"
"will also appear in a newly drawn bonus chapter in the book!!"

It's getting a printed version?! God I need it.

The intention was good, but somebody's gonna be in the dog house for this...

At least we know Chizuru is probably going to enjoy the concert. The author does not seem to be one to get hung up on bad feelings. Something I appreciate greatly. Way to many Yuri Mangas seem to love the dark drama and overly vicious villains.

I'm trying my best to hope that this isn't one of those "they were never really your friends" instances. Mao definitely does not seem like a bad person, just caught between a rock and a hard place and caved to pressure.

Hopefully this doesn't drag on too long, Koga's been gloomy for so long, she deserves some happiness.

God I love this couple. For being so quiet and introverted, Koga can really read the room. Nice save.

OMG why?! It's bad enough when a yuri manga feels it necessary to shove in some psycho villain, or force over the top drama, but this?! Yeah, I'm out.

It should be the crime of the decade (or at least year) that such an adorkable yuri couple won't get their own anime. Especially when not even Kase-san could get a proper anime adaptation.

We need more wholesome yuri without all the forced villainy and drama that often ends up plaguing a lot of the series.

For someone who is "quiet and reserved" (see character bio chapter), Koga is smooth af. Its hard to say if these lovable dorks realize their in love yet (as Koga did only ask to be friends, not to go out/be her girlfriend), but the first kiss is going to be so worth it.

Could people STOP comparing this to being trans? No one is dealing with their gender identity.
Someone is confused about SOMEONE ELSE’S and shenanigans happens.

Thank you! Neither Handsome Girl nor this have anything remotely to do with trans issues, even ignoring the fact the author makes this clear.

Just because someone is a "tomboy" does not make them any less feminine or somehow automatically one questioning their gender. That's a gross oversimplification if a very complex issue. The comic is clearly tagged girls love/yuri and is not tagged Trans or LGBTQ+. Let's leave it at that and move on.

They are so adorable together.
Koga-san is such an effortless chad, and she doesn’t even know.

That's why we love them.

It's so wholesome.

The biggest crime is knowing that, as much as this series deserves an anime adaptation, it will probably never get one. Would definitely love to see the story fleshed out more and fill in some of the time jumps. Like when she figured out Koga's true identity. It feels like she went from not having a clue to suddenly knowing.

I just hope this goes long enough that we actually get to see some dates and finally decide to live together... You know, go the distance.

So many yuri series tend to end and the moment they realize their actually in love that one feels short changed out of all the snuggling and dating. Maybe being a shorter manga will end up helping in this regard.

Either way, it's nice to have such a wholesome gl series without all the overly forced, super dark drama, villains/villainesses, etc. Absolutely loving it.

Kind of underwhelming in the end between not explaining the supernatural parts of the story, to the "friend zoned" ending. Though I was at least happy Mao made up with her friend.

Can't seem to find the official thing anywhere. Oh well.

Loving the series, though the second volume felt a bit off (too much heavy drama?).

Looking forward to more. Hope the assistant gets in on the secret, especially after the stuff with the kids and the shop getting busier. Almost doesn't seem fair she's still "in the dark".

Despite the light horror undertones, I absolutely love the "cute supernatural-girl" trope. We need more of these to be actual series and not just one shots like "Her Special Seat", "Kuchi-sale Nee-san", etc.

Still hoping for some cute Hasshaku-sama someday.

Interesting story, but this girl is bordering on full blown “Annie Wilkes”. Hope the drama doesn’t get too heavy.

Only a few chapters in and I want an anime adaptation. Love Shiva’s character. Can’t wait to see how she’s explained to Nio explains this to her friends. Chidori is also too cute.

It’s a shame the author did so little on this, I would have loved to have seen more of their first encounter and how they ended up rooming together. This seems like it had potential for a great and heart-warming story.
