You'd think those same hangups would preclude a relationship at all, is kinda the point. Either she's made peace with being a new person (and she certainly doesn't act like a mature adult IMO, so it's not a stretch) and can do as teens do, or she hasn't and shouldn't be in so deep that she's currently taking this girl (who she's declared her love for) to meet her parents as a partner.

I was thinking of them as being, like, a year or two apart, but I skimmed the first chapter and while it mentioned that Elsa was 16, it didn't specify pre-reincarnation Yvonne's, aside that she had a job as a beta tester, which doesn't necessarily imply that she was an adult, but I would assume that she was at least 18, else she probably wouldn't be as worried about it.
