the new chapter is out aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Fuck it, the whole dialogue for chapter 16. did this quickly so sorry for any grammar or translation issues. if moosan is here, feel free to use this and rework as necessary:
Pg 1.
I would've wanted to be Fuyuki's girlfriend--
Fuyuki's Text:
Eri-chan, good morning
any plans today for Film Club?
Pg 2.
Eri's Text: I'm skipping today
Sorry
Fuyuki's Text: Understood (cool glasses emoji)
[Sticker saying "Roger that!"]
Kyou: So, about this shot... should we go with a wide shot or should we go with this close up on the face... what do you think?
Door sign: Film Club | EDITING IN PROGRESS!!
Fuyuki: Hmm... Personally I prefer the wide shot
But it'll end up staying on that same scene for a while
so I think a close up shot would break the monotony...?
Kyou: You're right about that...
Pg. 3
Kyou: (Even the higher ups have trouble deciding)
Fuyuki: Eri-chan here
is beautiful, isn't she
Kyou: Eh?
Fuyuki: Ah, of course she's beautiful in other scenes, too.
Kyou: ....Mhm-- (sure)
Fuyuki: Kyou-chan...
Have you met up with Eri-chan recently?
Pg. 4
Kyou: ...with Eri? Nah...
Fuyuki: ...I see...
Fuyuki: You know, I heard from Eri-chan
that you two had a bit of a fight
Fuyuki: I didn't hear the details of it, though.
Pg. 5
Fuyuki: Even if we're childhood friends
this is something that's between you two...
And I know I shouldn't interfere much
Fuyuki: But if you ever need me for advice or anything
I'm always here for you
Fuyuki: Okay?
Kyou: Fuyuki...
Do you hope that we wont break up?
Pg. 6
Fuyuki: Eh...... me?
Kyou: Ah... m-my bad...
Kyou: If your two childhood friends end up becoming awkward
Of course, you'd feel awkward too
I'm sorry
Fuyuki: Heh
Pg. 7
Fuyuki: You two fighting, me having to mediate you both, I'm already used to it at this point so it's too late for that. That's why you shouldn't worry about me.
Fuyuki: Because no matter how much things change between the two of you, I will always be your childhood friend
Fuyuki: Well,
It'd be nice if you two were on good terms, though, if possible.
Kyou: ......I see.
Pg. 8
Kyou: You're right.
Kyou: Actually,
ever since the end of the training camp, I haven't spoken to Eri.
Kyou: But I think it's time we talk properly.
Fuyuki: Ah, right, speaking of which.
About next weekend...
Pg. 9
Kyou: Welp, that's enough for today.
Kyou: I have other places to be after I return these papers.
Kyou: Be careful going home, alright
Fuyuki: Yes, you too
Fuyuki: Good work toda...
Pg. 10
Fuyuki: Ah, nice work today...
Kouhai i forgot the name: Kyou-senpai!
Pg. 11
Kyou: O- oh. Ino. Wha-
Ino: Senpai.
You still haven't broken up with Shirai-senpai?
Kyou: I-
Ino: You're gonna talk to her...
Ino: a-about breaking up,
right?
Pg. 12
Kyou: No, well, I don't know quite... know
Ino: Wh-
Why?
Ino: After all...
Ino: Shirai-senpai doesn't even care about you at all, right?
Pg. 13
Ino: And yet...
Kyou: T-that's...
Kyou: ......I know that.
Kyou: But that's...
something Eri and I will have to talk about and decide together.
Pg. 14
Kyou: ...Sorry, I have to go now.
Ino: What is there to talk about?
Ino: What... is so good about that woman?
Pg. 15
Ino: When I've always
always
[Ino: U-um... Kyou-senpai]
Pg. 16
[Ino: Would you like to come to my room?]
Ino: At that time, didn't you choose me......
Sorry for the overwhelming block of spoilered texts lmao

I just read ch.16 and for sure, Kyo is dead for me. Bye Kyo

Your translation is perfectly done swossy! Are you perhaps Japanese speaker too? And your english is so good! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Its always exciting reading other people opinion like this. I also agree with your opinion
Thanks Chinocupp! <3
I would also hate for this to happen. This author hasn't done the cheap drama thing so far, and I don't think she'll start now. I think we're safe from that; Ino making a move on Kyou I think also makes it easier for Eri and Kyou to split.
I agree! I have faith in Murasakino.
Can I just fangirl over the fact that Eri wants to be Fuyuki's girlfriend?? Like this is awesome. Now for the people who say Eri doesn't seem to actually romantically love Fuyuki, that MAY be the case, but think about this: does it really matter? She loved Kyou for the moment he gave her utmost attention. Fuyuki WILL make Eri happy and Eri's existence was literally enough for Fuyuki to subsist off of. I think if they dated it would be incredibly wholesome and they'd both be very happy regardless of actual romantic interest.
I think romantic love would possibly matter to Fuyuki. Of course, having Eri in her life is the most important thing to her, but I'd want our girl to receive the romantic love she's obviously willing to give to Eri. And Fuyuki imagining Eri when she was touching Kisaki indicates sexual interest as well. I agree that if Eri and Fuyuki dated, it would absolutely be wholesome and something that will make them both happy. Which is why I'm not averse to a FuyuEri ending.
Btw, we're up to ch.12 scans on Dex. Wasn't sure if people here were aware.
Thanks for this! I didn't know new chapters were being translated. Moosan is a lifesaver.
i do wonder if the next chapters will be about eri trying to distinguish the difference between platonic and romantic love. we know that eri always had difficulty forming relationships except with fuyuki. but we still don't know why she thinks like this. would be nicer to get more background on eri, fuyuki, maybe even kisaki, that isnt told from kyou's perspective.
God I hope so. With this revelation, I wish Eri can take the time to reflect on what it means to want to be Fuyuki's girlfriend. I don't know if girly is suffering from comphet or good old fashioned 'tism but there really is something wonky with how she views relationships, specially romantic ones.
A Kisaki backstory is also something we still haven't gotten. Several chapters in and we still don't know for sure who her unrequited love is and how she really feels about Fuyuki. Because if this is going to be Fuyuki x Eri endgame, I hope Senpai isn't in love with Fuyuki or at the very least she gets a happy ending of her own because she's too kind to be dealt a bullshit hand
if she till decides to stick with kyou, then this drama will be even longer and pointless imo
I agree. It seems like the camping / filming arc has concluded so I wonder what's next.
Spoilers for chapter 15.2:
Kisaki asks, "How does it feel to have your confession read aloud by the person you love?"
"It's not like that. It wasn't my confession. It's just the film heroine's lines."
Kisaki replies that it was quite a close call in many ways, continuing: "and in the initial plan, you were potentially set to play the main heroine, right?" stifling a laugh.
Fuyuki brushes this off. "This script is just a rough draft I thought of because I couldn't think of any good lines"
And the director and others approved of it as is lol.
Kisaki teases, "It was still closer to reality, right~? Probably"
Fuyuki looks over to the beach and stares at Eri. Earlier, Kisaki told her a bit about what happened when Fuyuki was drunk because she might've not remembered anything.
At the beach, Eri is sitting with her thoughts, specifically about the implications of the label "childhood friend".
She thinks back on the words said to her by Kisaki. "A mere childhood friend like you has no right to be saying such things."
"Just a childhood friend.... how long are you gonna keep saying that." Eri thinks bitterly.
Fuyuki finds her on the beach and sits with her, drink in hand. She tells Eri she did a great job with the shoot. She also mentions that she heard from Kisaki what happened during the drunk incident. Kisaki told Fuyuki that Eri was worrying over her.
Upon seeing Eri's reaction, Fuyuki immediately asks if something happened between Eri and Kisaki. Eri denies it and goes quiet.
"Then, did you have a fight with Kyou?"
"...did Kyou tell you?"
"Nope, but I can tell. We're childhood friends, after all."
"That's right... we're... childhood friends..."
Eri starts to cry. She mentions how because of her over-reliance on that childhood friends label, she blew up on Kyou and Kurokawa-san.
Fuyuki comforts her, telling her it's fine and that she's on Eri's side. Fuyuki reassures her that with senpai, Eri doesn't need to worry. And with Kyou, if she thinks she said some harsh words, she can just ask for forgiveness.
"Up 'til now, we've always been together. I'm sure you guys will make up. I'll talk to him first for you, okay? So, don't cry."
Interspersed between Fuyuki's gentle comforting of Eri are the latter's turbulent feelings and thoughts that intersect into a conclusion.
It is here we see Eri realize some important things. Her entire inner monologue in the last part states:
"To be by her side meant I was showered with her perpetual kindness; I never wanted to lose her.
This is why I treasured her more than anything else.
This is why I did everything I possibly could.
And yet...
I didn't know Fuyuki liked girls.
I didn't know that not being her girlfriend meant not being her number one.
"If you love Fuyuki so much, then go date her!"
Kyou had a point.
Because even right now, rather than about Kyou, I'm more devastated by the fact that this place -- by Fuyuki's side -- isn't my sole possession anymore.
I wonder what else I could've done.
Because if it was just going to end up like this, then I... I would've wanted to be Fuyuki's girlfriend.
Because then, like yesterday and the days thereafter, this place would've surely been mine alone."
Thoughts:
At this point, to say Eri loves Fuyuki is an understatement. It's apparent that she's devoted to her. But the glaring issue (for me) is we're still unsure of what type of love she holds for Fuyuki exactly, or if she even knows it herself.
The culmination of her anguished and messy thoughts are basically "It should've been me" but only because she's rationalized it in her brain that Fuyuki can only have 1 person as her "number one", and that the most important person to her is the one who's holding the role of "the girlfriend".
We know this is untrue to a certain extent. While Kisaki isn't exactly Fuyuki's actual girlfriend, we know that Fuyuki doesn't slack on Eri. It's obvious that for Fuyuki, Eri is undoubtedly the most important person in her life. But to Eri, the things that Fuyuki's girlfriend can do are things that she cannot. Kissing, sex, taking care of are things that are beyond the scope of a "mere childhood friend". Or at the very least, something that a girlfriend has more right to do.
So she perhaps wants these. She wants Fuyuki entirely. Now, we can say that Eri isn't interested in having sex or kissing Fuyuki because in one of the previous chapters, she says that those things aren't important. But when she saw Fuyuki coming home in the morning after that NTR chapter, or when she found Kisaki kissing Fuyuki, these things fundamentally affected her to a degree that threw her importance in Fuyuki's life into doubt. Meaning these actions are something that she doesn't want someone else to do to Fuyuki.
Because the problem here is that Eri doesn't really want to be Fuyuki's number one. She wants to be Fuyuki's only one. And now she's come to the conclusion that if that's what she wanted all along, then she should've been the one in Kisaki's place right now.
Now whether she wanted to be Fuyuki's girlfriend because she realizes she's in love with her or because she just wants to monopolize Fuyuki is still the question. And right now, I'm leaning more towards the latter based on how Eri's thoughts in the current chapter.
Also just to add, throughout this manga, I've always been impressed by how Murasakino does these bits of visual storytelling and illustrating parallels and symbolism. For this chapter, not sure whether intentional, but the part where Eri is crying on Fuyuki's shoulder, and she thinks about how "I didn't know you liked girls" while she remembers Kisaki kissing Fuyuki, she wraps her arms around Fuyuki and pulls her in closer. It's very small but impactful. The sandcastles (?) at the end, erased by the waves, is also an excellent touch.
And just to note, for high quality translations we should wait for the scanlators. This is just something I threw together with my so-so understanding so it's most likely not 100%.
Wait she had abusive ex?
I don't remember Eri having an abusive ex, either, lol
Honestly guys maybe I just hallucinated it LMAO
LOL omg, you didn't. I totally missed this until I saw the TikTok for chapter 8?? Lmao I'm sorry I doubted you
Oh, nice! I have bad memory so I thought I got it confused with another yuri manga xD
Sorry, this is also going to be long and boring. I love this manga, and I can't find anywhere else people are talking about it.
Same! I really enjoy reading people's thoughts on this series and how they interpret the characters. Based on the replies and QRTs on twitter for this series, an overwhelming majority really love Kisaki and want a Fuyuki x Kisaki endgame (honestly, same). But given the direction of the story so far, it's really hard to predict how this'll end. Like, maybe the wedding in the future is Kisaki's? Eri's brother? Opera? who knows!
Wait she had abusive ex?
I don't remember Eri having an abusive ex, either, lol
Honestly guys maybe I just hallucinated it LMAO
Agree~~ Even though ~Kisaki-senpai~ and Fuyuki are together, Eri is the one driving the wedge between herself and Fuyuki, I think.
Very much agreed on this as well.
I don't really mind a Fuyuki x Eri ending, but like someone said before, she would really have to work hard to earn it, maybe. But even then, it still probably won't compare to Kisaki's kindness, patience and gentleness with Fuyuki.

Summary / spoiler for new raw:
Nice developments this chapter. First few pages / scenes show Eri in full cope mode. She's thinking about how it's merely a kiss, which is normal for couples. She notes how "It's a thing I've done with Kyou and the others I've dated" and "Kissing is the same as holding hands and hugging. It's just one way of expressing love. Sure, not just anyone can do it. But it's not that special." and finally, "So, don't make a face like Fuyuki's yours" (dogshit English, sorry)
It sounds like she's super bitter here (she is) but this also reveals how she views romantic relationships compared to her relationship with Fuyuki, highlighted specially in her thought bubbles for the next few pages when she sees the two together:
"17 years. For 17 years, we've always been together. Isn't it obvious that being able to build this kind of relationship is much more valuable and special?"
And Eri, like a wet cat, continues in her mind, "It was me who joined the club with you, and it was me who you were with when we talked about how excited we were for this camp. Me. Not her."
"A few kisses and sex won't erase the memories we shared, you know?"
"But if that's all it takes, what was the 17 years we spent together for?"
During all of this, Eri and Kisaki are going back and forth trying to be the one to take the drunk Fuyuki back to her room (and presumably take care of her.)
And finally, when Kisaki doesn't give in and refuses to give Fuyuki to Eri, Kisaki says "It's fine, don't worry. She's my girlfriend, after all." Eri just straight up snaps and shouts "Dont touch Fuyuki!" which garners everyone's attention.
Kisaki asks "Hey, Eri-chan. What do you mean by that?"
Eri is confused. Kisaki clarifies, "I don't know, but, a mere childhood friend like you has no right to be saying such things. I've told you this before, haven't I?"
Before Eri could go berserk, Kyou rushes towards them and pulls Eri away, apologizing to Kisaki and telling her Eri's just drunk so he's taking her back to their room. Eri is surprised? Confused? Because she was pretty sober I think. The chapter cuts with Kyou pulling Eri away.
Warning: long boring essay ahead zzz:
With that out of the way, it's interesting how Eri views "kissing and sex" as something insignificant compared to her and Fuyuki's relationship. How, to her, romantic relationships, or things that entail it, are not special at all. But deep down, she's hypocritical since she herself is having a meltdown and trying to cope in this chapter when she sees Fuyuki and Kisaki kissing. A nice parallel to the first chapter when Fuyuki caught Eri and Kyou kissing.
Which is why it's a rude awakening for Eri when Kisaki checkmates her with "But she's my girlfriend". Moreso when she doubles down and reminds her of their conversation during the Karaoke chapter
Instead of telling Kisaki all of the things she thought about moments ago, how a first relationship or maybe any romantic relationship is nothing compared to her 17 years with Fuyuki, she merely breaks. Who has the right to take care of Fuyuki? The best friend or the girlfriend? Who is more important?
It's also telling how she grouped Kyou with her past relationships in a fleeting mention, indicating she might not really love Kyou at all (which was kinda obvious, to be fair).
All in all, idk, this made me like Eri a bit more as a character. I know a lot of people hate her guts specially in this chapter, but I think this really fleshes out her perspective more. She's selfish, has a kind of fucked up view of love which probably makes it harder for her to have healthy relationships (remember her abusive ex bf? And how she says that she'll "eventually" fall in love with someone she's dating like she's forcing herself), does not understand even a hint of what's happening with Fuyuki (girl you never asked about the wounds on her fingers??), and is self centered for sure. But I can't deny that she really loves Fuyuki and would probably do anything for her. Hell, I truly believe Eri wouldn't think twice to be single if Fuyuki asked her to. It's just that everyone kinda babies her and her feelings. She needs someone like Kisaki, someone who'll remind her of what she will lose if she continues being like this.

New raws up. This latest chapter had Eri thinking about how she wants Fuyuki to stay beside her and its heavily implied she doesn't like seeing Fuyuki with Kisaki senpai. Kisaki sees Eri's skinship bullshit and is annoyed by it, mulling over the fact that Fuyuki is inevitably gonna get hurt again. So later while she's out on a walk with Fuyuki, she sees Eri passing by, so she pulls Fuyuki into a kiss to mess with Eri. Fuyuki is none the wiser (she didn't see Eri pass by) and Eri runs away.
The Kyou chapters sucked ass so this was a nice change. But I did find one thing interesting about those. In the second Kyou centered chapter a while back, right around the last pages, he caught Fuyuki lovingly playing(?) petting(?) a napping Eri's hair. I think it's at that point he realized Fuyuki is in love with Eri. My assumption is that he was probably afraid that he was really gonna lose Eri to Fuyuki and decided to confess first. The flashback didn't specify when he saw the two, but since they're all in the same area / school I'm assuming it's in college so maybe shortly before he confessed.
just a correction, the senpai's name is Kisaki.
Ah, my bad! Furigana was blurry as hell on comic walker when reading on the phone so I misread. Thanks!
so i bet eri and kyou will stay together and have kids, maybe even married
I think Eri and Kyou's relationship is built on a rocky foundation and it's obvious Eri really doesn't genuinely love him, so I'm thinking they won't last at all. And I feel like future chapters of this will illustrate the breakdown of their relationship, (hopefully lol). My assumption is that the first few panels of the first chapter is Eri's marriage to another guy while Kyou and Fuyuki are guests. My worry regarding Fuyuki is her ability to move on or not from Eri. I hope she does, but previous chapters make it clear that even if there's a gorgeous, kind girl who's right in front of her, she can't see herself loving anyone else but Eri which is an absolute bummer.
i wouldn't say fuyuki is the most honest with herself. she's still hiding behind her promise with eri instead of just confessing to her. even if she gets turned down, at least she tried.
Honestly I agree. I love my girl Fuyuki but woman is willing to be unhappy just to stay with her best friend when it's obvious this whole thing is breaking their friendship apart already, so why not just confess at this point. Her dynamic with Eri already changed after seeing her and Kyou fuck so it's at the point of no return already.
I wonder why Fuyuki kinda went fetal after pushing Eri away.
I think it's mostly trauma (and probably feeling a bit bad for recoiling away from Eri's touch). From the previous or so chapter, even just bringing up Eri's birthday triggered Fuyuki and made her remember it. The touch sent her over the edge. Girl wounded her own fingers so much from the anxiety and heartbreak from seeing the love of her life fuck their best friend. Yeah I think their friendship is at the point of no return tbh haha
New raw up. Seems like Eri's jealousy is getting obvious. Fuyuki's been by Senpai's side and Eri keeps looking at them, even getting bothered because she overhears Fuyuki call Senpai by her name, saying, "I can carry that for you, Sasaki-san." She's kinda cold to Kyou but idk if that's just her being in a pissed off mood because of Sasaki. Kyou asks her about the script and she's just half listening, eventually asking him "Fuyuki's girlfriend's name is Sasaki. Did you know?" To which he replies "Why would I?". The second half of the chapter is just about Kyou's pov of meeting the two as kids and if the next chapter is about him it'll be disappointing since I don't give a shit about his character. And by the looks of it it's probably gonna ba about how he feels out of place or jealous that Eri has loved Fuyuki more than him their entire lives.

Ok I can't defend my girl Fuyuki anymore in the latest chapter. Girl...
I mean, it's good that she didn't have sex with Senpai while Eri is still plaguing her mind. But, man... I wanted to see them fuck lmao I just want her to be happy. It'll probably take her a while to move on, from the look of things.

Spoilers for chapter 9-2:
Fuyuki and Senpai hang out in Senpai's apartment. Senpai lives alone, and she says she moved out because she didn't get along with her mom, and when her mom got married, she left because she didn't like seeing them happy. She notes in passing that she also hated being treated like her step dad's daughter because she never treated him as her dad. (I interpreted this as alluding to the step dad possibly being her unrequited love but still not confirmed).
Senpai suggests that Fuyuki should also try thinking about living alone as well. This is where Fuyuki admits to Senpai that when Kyou approached her about skipping out on Eri's birthday, Kyou quickly changed his mind and figured Eri would be angry. It was actually Fuyuki who basically said "No, it's okay. I can't come to her birthday this year anyway." This is because Fuyuki didn't want to see them both. She didn't want to see them happy together, and that even if Eri thinks everything could go back to normal, it's simply not possible. Fuyuki admits to Senpai that it's her fault because she could've told Eri sooner that she wasn't happy about Kyou and Eri dating. And that she was pathetic because she still went to Eri's house to give her the present even though she didn't want to see them both. She mentions that she already saw Eri and Kyou kiss, but it didn't cross her mind she'll see them having sex. Fuyuki tearfully concludes that she brought this upon herself because of her indecisiveness between not wanting to see them both, but wanting to see Eri and surprise her. She also feels guilty about skipping on Eri's birthday and hurting her, and believes that she herself deserves this pain because of her selfishness.
Senpai softly kisses Fuyuki and tells her that her only mistake is her timing. She tells her she hurts herself too much. Senpai then asks, "Fuyuki, do you want to try it? The thing you wanted to do to Eri-chan."
And they start making out (a direct parallel from Chapter 8-2), this time Eri's messages going unnoticed as Fuyuki scores with Senpai. Eri's message reads: "Fuyuki, I got your gift!"
All in all, I personally think that it's nice Fuyuki is trying to remove herself from this triangle she's in with Eri and Kyou. I really want Senpai and Fuyuki to be endgame now, with how soft, understanding and caring she is with Fuyuki. What worries me is the implications of her unrequited love and the hints that it might've been her stepdad. But either way, she removed herself from that situation. I just hope that Fuyuki doesn't think about Eri while fucking Senpai
I dont get the complaints about how this isn't "Yuri". Not saying that the dislike about this manga is unwarranted, I can understand the frustration and drama turning the readers off. But this is yuri. And as someone who experienced something similar as Fuyuki and doing things pretty much the same as her, I like the realistic and messy aspects of this story. I like how Kyou isn't a bad guy and that Eri is just trying to navigate through these huge changes that's going on with her best friend in an admittedly immature but realistic way. I like how Fuyuki is self aware at how indecisive she is and tries her best to move away from her best friends because it hurts her, but also feeling conflicted since leaving means hurting Eri. I root for Fuyuki to move on, with senpai or not. And the way Murasakino writes and illustrates them is wonderful. For me, it's an excellent manga, but it's not something you should read if you expect a clean, happy and fluff-filled story.

where did u find the chapter 9 raws? i only just now saw 8.2 and it was about kyou and eri having sex with fuyuki catching them then meeting with her "gf"
You can find the Chapter 9 raws in comic walker. That's where new chapters are uploaded every 3 weeks I think. 9-2 will be uploaded next week, Friday (11/10)
https://comic-walker.com/contents/detail/KDCW_AM17203787010000_68/
So in the end, even Kyou isn't as honest as we thought he was?
I believe Kyou knew that what he asked of Fuyuki was selfish, but from his point of view, it was the only way to get Eri to spend her special day with him instead of Fuyuki (and because Eri focuses on Fuyuki more, everytime), which he explained to Eri in the latest chapter. Eri was upset upon learning this and says it's his fault that she got angry at Fuyuki over his actions. But Kyou hugged her and explained his feelings, and Eri said, "I understand how you feel, but next time you can just tell me instead of doing that behind my back. Because of this I fought with Fuyuki." And she didn't seem that angry afterwards, which is why I'm not sure if it'll damage their relationship. But the author doesn't frame him as the bad guy, just selfish and inconsiderate of Fuyuki, even though Fuyuki thinks the world of him.
I also knew it's just a matter of time before author pulls that move, but didn't think it would be that soon. Well, guess it's good for people stick with this story, cause I think that's when the angst reached its peak.
An additional spoiler about the latest chapter:
When Eri woke up, she got surprised when she saw Fuyuki texted her. (In chapter 8-2, Fuyuki sent her a message how she was so sorry and she wanted to at least give her her present in person at her house. Eri couldn't reply because she was too busy fucking Kyou. Which is why when Fuyuki got to Eri's room, she saw the two, broke down, and quickly left.) It seems that Fuyuki still texted her after that, telling her how she saw Eri's little brother near their house and left the gift to him instead. Eri saw the text was sent hours ago and whined how she didn't see it earlier. This is what prompted Kyou to admit to his fault.
Lastly, not as important though, but it just crossed my mind it's possible Kyou isn't Eri's first bf? And so it wasn't her first time? Cause I feel she was so indifferent for it to be the first time lol.
Yeah it isn't. The latest chapters here in Dynasty reveals that Eri tells Fuyuki everything. From first boyfriend, to first kiss. Even her first time having sex, and Fuyuki laments how she knows every excruciating detail, down to what underwear Eri was wearing that time because she helped Eri picked it out. By being a devoted best friend, Fuyuki destroys herself bit by bit by the anguish she experiences throughout this.
But with Kyou, it hits Fuyuki harder because it's too near. I think because Eri's past boyfriends had been strangers to Fuyuki, she could distance herself from the hurt even just a little bit. And knowing that Kyou loves Eri, Fuyuki is really torn and just wants to gtfo of their way so they could be happy without losing her sanity. Seeing the two have sex is probably the crucial trigger needed for Fuyuki to realize she needs to move the fuck on. But I'm also apprehensive whether Senpai could love Fuyuki back because in the latest chapter here, Senpai notes that "they're the same" and that they understand each other more than anyone else, which is repeated in the raws. So Senpai probably has an unrequited love she cant move on from.
Honestly can't see what's so great about Eri, when personally I think senpai is way better lol.
I can relate to Fuyuki a lot with how she's too deep in love with her best friend, and how the years of connection and affection between them makes it so hard to move on, specially when Eri treats Fuyuki as her "Number 1". This is why the latest raws shakes up how they view one another, with Eri being sad and angry about how she thought Fuyuki chose senpai over her on her bday and deciding to have sex with Kyou because at least he makes her his number 1. And Fuyuki literally experiencing the worst heartbreak over this and starting to have thoughts of falling for someone else.
I really want this manga to go to the route of Fuyuki breaking away from this "unrequited love" and finding healing and happiness with someone else or even with no one. I think it would be a mature and refreshing take.
There's actually a new raw out now, and it's making me feel a bit hopeful.
Hope in the end, Fuyuki can move on from that promise. And though now it doesn't look healthy with the senpai, making her falling in love with the senpai in the end would be the best outcome, at least to me.
Warning, spoilers:
At the end of Chapter 8-2, Fuyuki asks Senpai to comfort her after she sees Eri and Kyou banging. At first I was rooting for Fuyuki and Senpai to have sex, but Chapter 9-1 kind of deepens their relationship a bit, with Fuyuki at the end finally realizing that she might be happier if she fell in love with Senpai (a mirror of Eri's thoughts from a few chapters back). Which is why I feel like if they had sex after Fuyuki's revelation, it wouldn't be ideal. I wanted a Fuyuki x Eri ending before, but after that chapter of Fuyuki seeing Eri and Kyou do it, I just want her to be in a happy relationship that doesn't stress her out so much that she harms herself physically and mentally.
My guess is Fuyuki will start distancing herself even more, that will make Eri question what's wrong, which in turn will make her relationship with Kyou get worse even though she was willing to go all the way to deepen that lol.
Eri finally finds out that it was Kyou who asked Fuyuki to not attend Eri's birthday party because Kyou wanted Eri all to himself during her birthday (which is what caused emotional anguish for Eri throughout several chapters, since she believes she's not Fuyuki's number 1 anymore. Made worse by the fact that Fuyuki's made-up reason about why she can't come is because it's the only day she can go on a date with Senpai lmao). So I guess that might be one of the reasons why Eri's relationship with Kyou worsen, but idk.
I'm actually very invested in this manga and hope that Fuyuki gets her happy ending. She's been so selfless throughout the chapters but in the process, she's destroying herself. And I can't really fully blame Eri, either, because for all she knows, her childhood best friend just started becoming distant and then suddenly got a girlfriend and, from her pov, skipped out on her birthday to go on a date with said gf. But the way she's possessive over Fuyuki and sad (maybe jealous) about her having a gf is strange. Regardless, my girl Fuyuki deserves better.
And also, I see some people here think that Fuyuki and Senpai are legitimately dating. Nope, they're just pretending.
