i don't care how many times people use rooftop scenes to bring out the introspection in a character, it tugs at my heartstrings everytime. especially when it's someone like Honoka, finally putting her brain to some good use! and when nozomi and nico come back to the roof later, it's even better because it's romantic.

this is a nozonico doujin though, and i have to say one more time how damn awkward everything is. like when nico desperately tries to play off the fact that she snapped at nozomi for, well, pretty much nothing. it's painfully realistic - feelings aren't ever that straightforward or easy to sort out. i love it.

kanbayashi makoto is great at drawing these really pained faces - i can feel the angst through my computer screen and it always leaves me wanting more.

this amount of angst is fitting for these two, who wall themselves off and have a really hard time letting anyone in. makes those moments when they open up to each other all the more satisfying : ) i can't wait to see how this one ends.

wow, this is super good. the awkwardness is tangible every time these two interact, which i think is great - both of them being dishonest with their feelings and all. plus, kanabayashi makoto's great at doing the whole "kiss-and-then-play-it-off-as-a-joke" thing which just adds to all that stupidity. ah, young love

this is sooo good ~ one of the great things about Kumichou's third-year stuff is how they write the third party. in this case, Kanan's a great facilitator/instigator of Mari's feelings, aware of them but not forcing her to come to any sort of realization about them before she's ready. also she does it in the most Kanan way ever with her shit-eating grins. loved it.

also, nervous/shy Dia is adorable like when she's shining the flashlight on pg. 24

outwardly affectionate Umi and a rarepair to boot? love it ~~

super cute ~ Nico has good compatibility with alot of the girls and it's nice to see some of the less explored possibilities getting some love
