I think the greatest example of modern character development is Takamori fans. They heard what Calli and Kiara said, took that in, then once the two did start hanging out again and providing ship material, they completely adjusted the understanding and portrayal of the dynamic

It's an Idol Anime. The main 9 girls Aquors, pronounced Aqua, are an idol group trying to emulate the super popular group Muse, who were the main characters of the original. Sunshine is a sequel kinda but you don't really need to know Muse to watch.

There is no canon yuri but plenty of bait/shipping fuel. It is an error 404 men not found series. Sunshine is super fun and in my opinion more comedic than the OG.
