what is a 'schild'?

Many schools in the Assault Lily universe have "oaths of sisterhood" where an older Lily will adopt another girl as her younger sister (well... the two of them call each other sisters, but they tend to act more like lovers.) At Yurigaoka, the school which Kaede/Riri/Yuyu attend, this oath is called the Schutzengel's Oath. After they've taken the oath, the older girl is called the Schutzengel and the younger girl is called the Schild.

In canon, Yuyu is Riri's Schutzengel, Riri is Yuyu's Schild, and Kaede is the same age as Riri so she could never have taken the oath with Riri even if they'd both wanted to. This doujin takes place in a parallel universe where things are different.

If you've seen Maria-sama ga Miteru / Maria Watches Over Us, this is a ripoff of its "soeur" system (Assault Lily actually started off as a parody of MariMite.)

Kanaho and Kazuha are shown with their "canon" partners, in an SFW manner, over in the oneshot collection Assault Lily: Secret Garden -Dreamy Memoria- (Kanaho in chapter 2, Kazuha in chapter 3)

"Assault Lily New Chapter 2: Blumendämmerung / The Ringing Depths" is now fansubbed as well.
This is a direct sequel to the first New Chapter play.
