We dont get a ton of detail in this chapter but when you put it that way I'm not surprised Kanade concluded it was something codependent-ish
The thing is, the little bit we see of Akane's side of the relationship all seems fine. Yeah there isn't much to go on, but saying your partner is your other half and you don't know how to live without them isn't weird at all.
Maybe she was comparing her relationship to normal college relationships which aren't that serious and misunderstood, thinking somehow that's the only right way to be in a relationship at her age. But yeah unless she had some reason to think it was wrong of her to be in such a serious relationship with her high school girlfriend or after they had only been together a couple years, I don't really see the issue from her pov. Now if she somehow figured out what Kaede was going through and how she was dependent on Akane to feel anything, okay then it makes more sense all of a sudden.
