Wait, what interactions? 100% of what we are shown is a two-panel phone call and a few of the ceremony itself. The only thing you can tell is they're comfortable joking around, which really doesn't impart much information at all.

She's obviously comfortable around him and through all the story she's excited and happy for her upcoming wedding. At no point is she depicted having second thougts nor being depressed as it should be the case if she were being forced into marrying the guy.

Oh man, I love this series.

If anything it would seem that since none of them acted on her feelings, the bride "outgrew" them, finding happiness with the guy. So at the end the love she felt for Fleur was different at the love she felt for her husband.

The talk with Fleur at the end was her attempt to help Fleur to also move on her unrequited feelings.

I don't usually say this, but I feel rather sorry for the guy she's marrying. He seems like a decent enough person, and he genuinely loves Elle. Unknowingly, he's become trapped in a loveless relationship because his bride couldn't be honest with him.

It's strange to sympathize with a male character in yuri, but this guy got fucked over and it wasn't his fault.

This was a surprisingly heartfelt story.

And despite using a pretty cliche setting it still brings something new, the way the bride is characterized is amazing. She comes off like a mature person, choosing to do what is best for everyone, it is sad but so is life sometimes.

I do think you guys are overreacting, there's nothing on the story that implies she doesn't love her husband, is obvious she loves them both.

And just for the first chapter it seems more plot driven than his usual stuff. Really looking forward for more of this, Ryu is by far one of my favorite authors and I was missing his yuri (his het stuff while good isn't THAT good)
