There wasn't any nudity, or profanity, or violence, but I don't care. The lewdness of that scene was off the scale. It's not for the eyes of children, nope nope.

Band-aid Girl is totally trying to be a boyfriend for Ponytail Girl. With her short-ish hair and her tracksuit jacket, it's obvious she's going for the boyish look. And that stunt she pulls trying to catch a toy bear, oh, it's exactly what a super typical cliché "cool boyfriend" character in a romantic manga would do... except that he wouldn't have failed, haha.

Look at her face when she sees that Ponytail Girl likes those teddy bears, then her boastful "leave it to me" attitude when she starts playing the UFO catcher. Confidence! Arrogance! Decisiveness! All are traits that girls like to see in their boyfriends! Only thing is, it doesn't work like that here -- because Ponytail Girl was begging her to forget about it and stop spending her money in such a wasteful way... Too bad, Band-aid Girl didn't listen and ended up pennyless, defeated and humiliated (clearly crushed by her feelings of "I've failed to be a cool bf, oh woe, I suck!") even though Ponytail Girl tried to comfort her.

The last panel is so amusing and heartwarming. For the first time, Band-aid Girl stops playing that "cool guy" role and acts like the young girl she really is, letting go of herself in a fit of childish anger. And I can't but get the feeling that, if Band-aid Girl was like that all the time (a cute girl who is sometimes a bit childlike and spoiled, instead of someone who plays a boyfriend routine), Ponytail Girl would like it much better.

Yes, indeed. Quoting from the comments for the previous chapter:

"Tadokoro-san" is well liked by the crowd here, but for a short 4-page chapter to see such a massive and enthusiastic reaction in such a short time... well, I do think it's a first.

I surmise it has to do with the straightforwardness and unpretentiousness of the currently developing plot. A cute, sweet, helpless heroine everybody likes. A villain with a heart black as pitch who torments her. A hero who is the very image of a knight in shining armor who arrives just in time to save the damsel and mete out punishment to the miscreant. It has a charming simplicity it's difficult not to enjoy. v^_^v

The only thing I'd quibble with is the "just in time" part, which is technically true, but one of the joys of this one is that you do have the chapter-end cliffhanger but there's no ramping up the tension or stretching things out--we barely have a chance to think, "Oh no, what will happen if Nikaidou ever discovers that a bully is--" when BAM!, Nikaidou is back, bully is a puddle of villainous goo.

This is great just as a bit of an antidote to all those stories that milk the suspense for every single plot development--I'd call it a parody except for its obvious whole-hearted sincerity.

This series doesn't waste any time, man. It's like every time the chapter ends, you think 'man, I really hope-' BAM next chapter, it happened, no one's got time for that will-they-won't-they shit, we're on the CLOCK.

"They really like each other, maybe they-" - They're spending time alone together.
"Snap, at this rate they might as w-" - Both confess.
"Shit, this is going fast, but now what's going to come bet-" - Bullying!
"What a bitch, I hope Sakur-" - Instant karma.

They aren't even hitting tropes, they just distilled and concentrated the yuri into a solid block to bludgeon you in the face with adorable feels and a stable relationship built on shared interests.

It ain't surprising that "Tadokoro-san" is so very popular. Suspense is all well and good, but there's genuine excitement in moving forward at this sort of intense pace.

You know, I hadn't realized until now how FREAKING CHILDISH Hino is. She likes Koguma, and she obviously understands that she likes Koguma... but, instead of properly romancing her, all she does is harass her. And only now she realizes she's on the wrong path! I'm reminded of this:

The games Hino plays with Koguma are undoubtedly titillating for both of them, but in the end they are just that, games. If Hino's real wish is to see Koguma smile blissfully, if Koguma's happy face has such a devastating effect on her, then Hino needs to rethink her approach strategy. Because she sure as heck ain't gonna win anyone's heart waving lizards in their faces.
