The 4koma is a gag manga.

Even with Io's SR 5* uncap, it's pretty hard to see these two as a couple. And that's saying something from Granblue.

The interesting part about Madoka Magica spinoffs is that, now that you know they will look a way to make it as tragic as possible, it instead ends up being hilarious. The storywriters spend so much time thinking of ways to make all the girls in the cast miserable, that the plot ends up developing as a parody of itself, impossible to take seriously anymore.
It's kind of like the puzzle bosses in a videogame, who are pretty neat when you first beat them in a blind run; but on a replay, once you know their gimmic, become trivial and annoying. yet still mandatory to go through them to beat the game. In the same way, the shock value of the original series has already wore off, but the franchise still tries to milk it for all that's left.

Ending is obvious if Asuka asks.

To be fair, though the series was indeed put on ice for a looong time, right before the most of the best chapters happened, so I could somewhat see why people would be angry at being "baited" into a "non-yuri" manga, specially if they didn't look the prior ilustrations by Yukiko.

The only thing I saw of these series was a bonus video featured on Granblue, where Anne escapes her castle, rides a carriage, pulls out what I pressume is shed skin from Grea's tail, and then proceeds to smell it (and by that I mean she filled her lungs with it) while happily stating it had Grea's scent.
So either she's gay (and a perv), or a very, very creepy friend. knowing Cygames, likely the later, unfortunately.

@Hollows: I only have the wind version of Yuel. The story bits of the unit (when you get it, and when you get it's third skill), were pretty deep into the gay area, but also Yuel seems to make several remarks to the MC on in-game voice lines, regardless of gender, which include asking if he/she wants to take a nap with her, so I don't know.

It should be noted that there's an interview with the guy who directed the game Blue Reflections, in which he states the girls would never go out with a guy in-story because they'd never betray their male fans. That disturbing part of the Japanese otaku culture is kind of the reason why having the characters seemingly showing romantic interest with someone of their same sex (aside from the character representing the player) is easier for the developers to do, as it both provides fanservice and receives less backlash from the crazies with cash. CyGames seems to have caught note of that since whoever is not openly hitting on the MC, is either gay, has an impossible crush, or is Metera.

The Kawawa family is scarily lax. Saku and Kakeru might be the only ones with common sense and even then Saku is a pushover...
