It sucks when you're a lesbian but girls you flirt with think you're just being nice because you look so straight.. Lol

Ikr. Like you're trying to flirt with her and she just goes "aww thnx u too". No, homo intended dammit.

One of the reasons why I try to wear at least one cliché accessory... Not that they ever notice. grmpf

Oh, teach me master! What's a good cliché lesbian accessory?
Other than draping myself in a rainbow flag of course. ^^'

Draping myself in a rainbow flag? Don't tempt me… Even then I think some people would decline to notice any sort of symbolism. “Oh, that’s pretty. So nice and colourful. Now let me tell you about my ideal boyfriend.”

I’ve always thought rainbow wrist straps to be sort of obvious (if your outfit makes it feasible to wear them, so not necessarily ideal for the office). And yes, horribly cliché stuff like wearing flannel shirts with such a wrist strap also counts; black triangle buttons on canvas bags, sneakers or Oxfords, that sort of thing.

Generally I dress in a somewhat tomboy-femme style. Couple that with a black, “YDY” embossed triangle button, a rainbow wrist strap, and very short nails, and it should at least give a slight hint that maybe, just maybe, I might actually be interested in other women in that way. It doesn’t mean that people styled like that have to be queer, the style has become a lot more mainstream after all, but if I see someone in similar attire I would at least think one might ask if there is the slightest bit of intent behind it.

Easy for me to say that though, as I tend to just assume when I see girls in similar dress. Being too embarrassed to ask people flat out, I then proceed to try to flirt with a straight girl once again…

Well...can't say I'm surprised given the setting. But I'd rather have been wrong. After so many stories spun from the same thread this feels rather like bullshit now.

Thing is that this one is one of the "original" ones. Scanlated now, but published more than 6 years ago...

I think the evil pink hair all started with the one and only beloved pink character majin boo from dragon ball z

If it's just pink hair we're looking at (and villains), then I think Jessie might be one of the earlier iterations (Utena was, after all, not a villain):

Still trying to remember if there was a pink haired villain in "Slayers", which would predate all of that...

Something I've noticed now for a while now...so what is up with pink hair characters being evil? Back in the day the pink hair characters were the innocent and sweet kind. Now they are either batshit crazy or tsundere or a complete bitch... Not complaining I was getting tired of the pink hair people always being so inoccent but now like Every pink hair person has issues lol

Not sure they were all that balanced back in the day either to be honest... eyes Utena DVDs

Kimochi no Katachi by Kitao Taki

That one came to mind, as well as pretty much all the others, but would want to add:

"eo" is pronounced roughly like the "u" in "up" or "dull".

Open-mid back unrounded vowel or ʌ if you know IPA. (Which everyone does, of course...)

Also, for the pronunciations of most names in FF, refer to halmoni's favorite recording:

GOD DAMNIT ANON Y DID U HAVE TO BRING THAT LINK UP AGAIN NOOOOOOOO

giggle Great link! Thank you anon.

In all honesty though, thank you halmoni, despite your misgivings that is really useful.

^Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is an amazing SoL manga, but don't read it for the yuri. Strong subtext yes, but definitely not a real yuri manga. The ending doesn't disappoint though.

It being more SoL than yuri is actually one of the factors that endears it to me. I love it when yuri is incidental in an overall great story. Just makes it feel more natural in my mind. Admittedly, that may itself merely be a variant of wishful thinking, but I like it that way.

Not sure what exactly the current status is (there seem to be a few rescan projects etc. flying around), but Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is one I always enjoy when I stumble across it. The fact that it has been completed is also a bonus in my mind.

Just received the book release today from amazon.cn. I made the account expressly for this order and can't read a word of Chinese, so it's an option that should be available to anybody. Final total cost was 23.40 USD (I make no claim I couldn't have gotten it for less).

My credit card company will probably raise a howl, but then realise it's just one more Asian country to add to the list of places I order from... :p

It does feel a bit weird to pay 3x as much for the shipping as for the item per se (and that's standard shipping...), but even then the total is similar to what it costs in the US, coming in at €21.

Thank you very much indeed Gulf Standard. Very much looking forward to reading the translations. My patience is admittedly a bit too thin currently to sit there with a dictionary and look up every single character, but I do try to make it a point to purchase stories by authors I appreciate.

There is actually a compilation of stories by Fumie Akuta available: "Imouto ga dekimashita" -- same name as the first manga of the collection "I got myself a little sister", which is the other translated manga on here. The volume also contains five more stories, many of which actually look quite interesting (my lack of Japanese prevents me from being able to say much more about them, alas).

God dammit! Just confess already!

Give it another hundred chapters or so, it'll happen for sure!

And then it'll end.

"Kaede, I... I like you."
"Yes. I like you too, Akina!"
"No, you don't understand. I don't mean that kind of like. I want to kiss you and do dirty things with you!"
"Oh, but we're both girls!"
"I know, but that does not matter to me!"
"I DO like you, Akina, but this is all so sudden." softly touches Akina's face "I need to go to my grandparents place for a few months, but when I get back, I hope I will have sorted out my feelings for you Akina. Please wait for me."
scene of Kaede waving goodbye to Akina, who has a tear glinting in the corner of her eyes

the end

Something like that?

(nothing to do with stretching, nope...)

Hm. As a relatively slender, blond haired woman who is considering moving to Japan, numbers 1 & 2 make me kind of happy...

Hurting deeply the one you love, so you are never forgotten reminds me of that yuri incest manga, where the MC's "best friend" doesn't send the application for university exams she was tasked to send, so her "future" might be ruined and the MC forever remembers her, even though they couldn't be together.

Can't recall the title, but the little sister was kinda yandere (and the end was ambiguous anyway). The lesbian side couple was more interesting than the two sisters.

Seconding that. Thank you very much halmoni!

The donation is a nice idea, but do you think that Ssamba will be really happy to receive such a thing, i mean some people want to deal on their own with the problems? I wish i knew her address, i could've sent her an old-fashiond letter expressing my love for FF and giving my support .

She can't ask directly for money for FF because of contract with Comico I guess. If she gets money indirectly, they could sue her.

Maybe the best way would be if she made a wishlist for some stuff somewhere and people would get her whatever they want.

Picking this discussion up again... If her Comico contract does indeed carry such clauses, then would merchandise material present a potential workaround? In many cases the rights are limited to the online publication piece, so things like stickers, keychains, t-shirts, or coffee mugs would not be affected. Of course the idea would be that these articles are marketed with a sufficient premium.

Not sure how much Ratana is making of online views, but I think quite a few of us, myself included, have purchased Lily Love items in order to help support her as well. Heck, maybe it would even be possible for the manufacturing to be "outsourced" to the community to some extent (e.g. finding craft-to-order manufacturers that ship internationally and act as a go-between in case of translations or the like)?

Stretch with yuri ;x But seriously though, looks pretty promising.

Agree. The style is rather reminiscent of Higashiyama Shou's work. The first three pages would barely seem out of place in Prism.

Well, I suppose he could start dating Ran now that she's available.

Too soon?

Though art evil Nezchan... :p
(although I did choke on my tea when I read that)

I suspect there will be a tearful but very frank confession just before Keiko leaves, one that makes it unmistakably clear how Ran feels, forcing Keiko to seriously consider what she has subconsciously avoided admitting to herself so far. Cut forward until after her assignment, and she will have sorted out her feelings, hopefully returning to Ran to confirm that they are mutual.

Then again, I tend to try to be optimistic...

I guess if you look mean by default, you have to be more proactive and go talk to people to make them see you're not an asshole.. Which is not so easy when you're shy as hell ^^'

Not that the sentiment seems at all familiar, nope, never, nothing of the sorts...

Depending on your environment it becomes even more fun, as even a nominally friendly face is assumed to be constrained by a serious demeanour. Workplaces can drive that perception, alas.

(...scheint im Übrigen recht viele deutschsprachige Leute hier zu geben... :) )

And the half-assed French here and there bothers me. If you have to add French, at least make it so the grammar is correct.

I think I stopped feeling too bothered by that when I first watched Eva, and Asuka speaks "German"... But agree that it still can be a bit irritating as it breaks the narrative flow.

Irrespective of that I do like the story though, both in terms of the art and the setting. Fencing does make for a certain elegance after all.

That was incredibly sweet.

Cannot but agree. I really like the way the story is developing, makes for a nice change from a lot of the other standard highschool girl stories.
