@LilyBlueCat I'm glad to see someone is in a similar boat as me with the series, and I do agree that the series is generally well done in terms of how it's handled, animation and direction, so fourth. I also uh...hate to be the bearer of some bad news with anime spoiler talk, in the same episode they talk about the possibility of people being reverted from leaves back to corpses, and revived from there, they take that information to then burn the leaves and use them to roast potatoes. That's why they give a bag of roasted potatoes as a gift. They used the dead girls to cook potatoes...and I genuinely hate how disturbing and dark that is. Plus it's a way of rubbing in how they're dead and never coming back...

^That's fair, I remember the game coming out and a lot of people being disappointed, so I wanted to say at least in favor of Silk Song as far as we know the production isn't completely on fire like it was for Duke Nukem lol

Me not being a Duke Nukem fan aside, from what I remember the whole production was a mess, numerous devs working on the game forever / so many cooks in the kitchen. A nightmare on numerous levels. From everything I know about Silk Song the dev team has just been hard at work trying to bring us the best game they can make, and it keeps taking more time. Could Silk Song suck? Sure, but I have a lot more hope for it being good once they do finish it.

This is one of those anime I feel so conflicted about. I know some people find it hilarious and that's fine, for me though a lot of comedy is just so incredibly mean spirited. Spoiler talk, There's a background pairing that are quickly murdered by the main duo, and you get an extra bit where you learn how they wanted a happy life (and I think marriage?) together after an episode. There is a lesbian couple in the series...but it's hard to tell if they're going to survive long, and I don't know how sincere the series is about the relationship. Which brings me to the main duo that this art depicts, they often have an uneven and mean spirited dynamic between them, and I genuinely can't tell if the series is only playing up the potential "Yuri" between them as a joke. There's some entertaining things about the show overall and cute designs, but again I'm very conflicted.

The author has said this is a yuri series and the other couple is part of the main cast. I don't see them going anywhere. It does have a lot of dark humor though, but that's the main style of it. It's primarily a comedy with romance scattered and slowly building as we go along. Kind of like Grand Blue (not a yuri series). Wild comedy first, potential romance second. Some of the jokes are mean though but every character is an asshole (except for Yuri, no coincidence there).

You might know but as a friendly heads up you responded to me in the image forum and not on the art. That aside though, fair enough. I think a lot of the mean spirited "humor" is simply not for me, and the Yuri aspect gives me a very Yuru Yuri feeling.
