Oh hey, I read an "article" about it being a queerbait thing.

90% of "gay behaviour" in Vtubing is a queerbait. Maybe 99%.
They learnt well from idol industry.

Dunno, people got upset that they made a joke out of lgb groups fighting for same-sex marriages. Typical april's fool thing. You either get cringe, dangerous or people getting offended type of situations.

^I'm out of the loop there, you mean Iroha and Laplus made fun of fighting for same sex marriage? I try to avoid April Fools content in general, as there's a lot of it that's just bad. Looking at the source for this art and using auto translate I see the artist apologizing to a response, and people being understandably frustrated with same-sex marriage being treated like a joke, but that's the only context I'm seeing offhand.

I think Pinecone meant that artist reply for an comment about "Not using same-sex marriage as an April Fools' joke", sound condescending. I think, not sure.
I didn't even know it's just an fanart, I thought it's another "official" stuff that is released as queerbait. There is a lot of it in the industry.

I hope the artist wasn't being homophobic

Most of the flirting is a joke, but vtubing as a whole does seem to have a lot of queer girls involved, especially at Hololive

The bait appears to be them announcing on April Fools that they're married. The image was included in the tweet.
Dunno if this tweet and this one are direct replies to the backlash. Navigating Twitter in its current state without an account is hell.
