And, yeah, I also read them in Spanish, but I also speak Japanese so I took a look at the raws and oh my gawd like 40% of the translations in Spanish are MADE UP. I am not even kidding. I compared what I read in Japanese to what they wrote in Spanish and I was like UMMMMMMMMM how did you get THIS from THAT?

Yes, even taking it in as spanish without regarding it as translation it was rather janky.

Whoever was the translator was really bad. You might want to read it again once Yuri Project releases it.

Since the fault is on the content, re-reading with better translation won't make the disappointment go away.

I love Kodama Naoko and mainly because of Renai Manga. :) By the way, her Cocytus is coming at some point. I've read a couple chapters and it's interesting.

Cocytus is only 2 chapters and completed, read em translated in spanish a while ago. I think this mangaka has a thing for unsatisfying conclusions / lack of closure for the plot / story suddenly cuts off / main plot feels like a loose end... Specially in Cocytus. Quite the disappointment cuz it had potential to become something actually interesting.

I stayed away from it when it was airing (only saw the OP and saw a lot that repulsed me). I gave it a shot a few days ago, hated it.

To begin with something heavily subjective, as someone who hates those "magical girls" and "idols", these are all shit to me - the ridiculous outfits and bear crap was REALLY cringe-y to watch, along with those "catchphrases/quirks" in the dialogue.

As someone who appreciates subtle symbolism as support in storytelling - I found the symbolism here annoying, it was so on-the-face about it, always feels like someone screaming "LOOK I USE SYMBOLISM ON MY STORY. I MUST BE SMART! COMPLIMENT ME!!!" as spammed symbolism became visual disruption and cripples the pacing, instead of using it to support the story.

Can't say I was particularly mind-blown by anything, when most of the time I just wanted to stop wasting my time watching it.

Disappointed with the lack of doujins with these characters, I don't know anything about em nor why yuri fans pair em up, but I really like these few fan-made stuff I've seen.

Supposing that by "serous" you mean "drama".

I am not someone who is fazed by drama and I find myself rarely ever gripped by those stories (unfortunately my tendency of magnifying details when it comes to "serious entertainment"/drama makes its glaring flaws much more apparent, impossible for me to deem it entertainment worthy of my time).

But I will force myself to pick some...

Dandelion Among Lilies - dealing with a couples drama from a 3rd person's perspective makes it different to the usual stuff, a breath of fresh air to the usual format, so to speak. Beware: Contains many flashbacks.

Octave - A drama with multiple arcs with good writing, pacing, and a natural flow. Also what I found the most noteworthy was the quarreling and arguments and the way the MC handled them was really realistic to the character (as despicable as some might see it), something I rarely ever stumble upon and do appreciate.

Now, picking what I consider serious, as in not comedy/silly focus:

Prism - I can't really say anything that has not been said before. Overall superior writing when it comes to yuri... Also by proxy Stretch even tho it's not yuri (but teasing it enough to overload and kill the readers) the writing actually becomes better on just about every aspect.

Anyone else watching Etotama? Show is a lot more fun than I expected, and I have a weak spot for 4th wall breaking comedy.

Also the art direction in the use of CGI is fantastic... I never thought I would say that about CGI in anime... But it looks so colorful and clean, and the animation is smooth... so pleasing to the eyes.

Is that just because the genre/style doesn't interest you? Because Hibike Euphonium is, whether there is yuri or not, definitely one of the best KyoAni works. From characterization to just general atmosphere, it is great. Up there with Hyouka, Nichijou, and K-On!. Which are, in my opinion, the best anime by KyoAni.

Art and animation are top notch, music might be great even if I am not into classic orchestral. But this alone won't keep me watching it.

I found the plot at hand with the club and it's development uninteresting, dull, and boring. so the last thing it had left to catch me was the characters... I don't find any of them fun to follow nor interesting (I don't even remember any of their names), therefore I have absolutely no reason to watch it.

So, with that said. IF yuri happens (and not subtext), I will probably only watch from that point on.
