This brings me back! I used to watch Yu Yu Hakusho on cartoon network in 2001-ish, it was a big favorite of mine. Not much yuri to sink your teeth into but the two referee girls make for a fun pairing ;-)

^^^ I came out in the late nineties, in the middle of the ''don't ask, don't tell'' period. If you had told me back then how far things will have gone by 2022 I flat out wouldn't have believe you. Even stuff life being able to marry and adopt felt like impossible dreams when I was 18. It's a long, hard road but things do improve over time. There is always hope if you keep fighting for what's right :)

There's definitely a bit of a cheat with the height/body proportions changing too much. It's the sort of thing where you kinda have to allow it for the story to work at all though, you either like the series enough to accept it or it blocks you from enjoying it entirely.

I am beginning to feel bad for Aya right about now. Sure I am here for here yuri and sure she isnt entitled to anything but my poor girl is clearly into the dude with style that works in the music shop. I dont know what her eventual reaction to reveal will be but I feel sad for Aya cuz she fell for a dude that doesnt exist.

On the contrary, it's like Yukito/Yue from cardcaptor back in the day, you get TWO in one, they just alternate ;) It's a total win !

The fact that the elderly maid is legit proud/touched 100% makes the chapter in my book XD

Meguru has that weird permanent thousand-yard stare a la Mei from Citrus that makes her really hard to read. I still can't quite get what she is as a character, is she sad, happy, lonely, horny, etc ? It makes me want to keep going with the story though, so there's that I guess :P

Kind of a typical mistake, rushing into things out of insecurity. It's actually fairly common in the gay community, I've sure experienced it a few times myself (^^) I hope Takagai will be able to see through that and help calm her down a bit, they seem to genuinely care about each other so there's some hope there.

Except she'd do the same thing whether she stays or goes to Tokyo. She's gonna learn patisserie either way, it's just that before she assumed she'd stay at home since the kinda school she'll go to is already closely available so there was no need to think about moving until now.

Well, yeah, the romance-manga trope is that each person in a couple has to decide where they're going after high school, and the "romantic" choice is to be together.

I get the impression, though, that in Japan Tokyo is the magnet for aspiring young people in a way that isn't necessarily the case in the US or in Europe (and I definitely get that impression about Seoul in Korea). As Nanoha points outs, she has a handful of school choices in her region, but exponentially more potential schools in Tokyo.

In other words, for people from the provinces, the choice is between staying near home and getting an OK education/professional preparation or going to Tokyo for the big(ger) time start in life. But in the US that "bigger time" might be New York, but it might also be Chicago, or LA, or any number of other places depending on an individual's ambitions.

Having spent time in both France and England, I'd add that it's pretty much the same with Paris and London. There's a very definite ''the capital vs the rest'' mindset. I guess it's more of a thing in smaller countries (in the geographical sense, not the population) .

Daaaaw getting all lovey dovey in public places ^_^ Living together in tokyo makes way too much sense not to happen at this point. I just hope we'll get to at least see it a little and not just in a '' last few pages of the series epilogue'' sort of way (^^)
