Naturally I cannot read moon runes, but thankfully a friend of mine has translated it into old Elvish, which I can read. Thus I translated it into pure English and behold the dialogue I am 99% this represents:

Manaka: "Wanna get married?"
Midori: "We weren't married already?"

...they said it a lot longer with more words to fit it on 2 pages, but it's entirely accurate.

read the real translation on another site, because Dynasty still hasnt uploaded it here for no discernable reason. It's just subtext, but I think Nakatani is teasing us on purpose

Ya know, if Nakatani leans in on the whole touching each other's funbuns stuff, I kinda wonder if that is her final side-quest for this manga.
Usually when you only have three chapters left you don't start a new side-mission. So I figure this will actually culminate in the Christmas play they talked about and then some implied unspeakable handholding in bed.

Which means there isn't really any room for a serious coming out. It's an either or thing at this point I feel. Or at the very least, that plot point might be waved through real fast. Maybe even without dialogue a la "Look at these three panels of Yuu's mom first looking shocked, then rejecting, then happy."

Meanwhile this series is starting to get close to the triple digits.

And yes I agree that the trope of treating men like abusers just because it's Yuri is not great, but like this is Yuri. It's hard to develop a male character good and not expect people to start shipping him with the girls.

And they do the same thing with two girls in straight shows, so is it really an issue? We shouldn't drag down realism or at least a huge chunk of what makes up humanity, just so some shippers don't get any fuel. There is a reason why the most grounded and usually most excelling yuri works don't treat men like they don't exist. This feeling of being "threatened" by a male presence only harms the genre imo.

But it's also deliberate. The producers know this. And more often than not they explicitly bait.

Either way you can see in series like Seifuku no Vampiress Lord (which fits, because hey, vampires) a male character can add. Even as a not-love interest. Or even an anti-love interest. Or whatever.

Oh of course it is deliberate, hence the term yuri-bait.

You are running in open doors here. I always appreciate a yuri story that doesn't treat boys as nuisances that have to either be ignored or used as drama fuel.

It's a comedy, but it'll be serious; in fact so serious that it goes with the "erase all males so there's no other options but to be a lesbian" (or something) like all the trite "cute girls doing cute things" comedies.

It makes no sense in the actual series though and would completely ruin it, so no thanks.

Touko sure loves acting. But to think Yuu would be so perfect in recreating her past denial. What an amazing "play".
