The fact that lots of vampires die during their first attempt to drink human blood, still feels like an oversight from the vampire society and world building to me. Something that could be preventable. Regardless I'm still curious to see where this goes.

Ah yeah middle school and grown adult really isn't great. Would have rather seen more development of their love when the kid was almost an adult. Not a full on kiss when he's a middle schooler. Seems like a lot of the side stories aren't that great to read for me.
