I get the feeling that this show doesn't take the girls' feelings so seriously. Maybe that's why I dropped S2.

Ditto. The blithely post-het feel of S1 was enough to offset the many shortcomings of the series for me but now, unless there's a twist, it's quite plain that the girls are second tier.

It was only at page 00045 that I realized that "Umi" and "Kuu" weren't the Shiroi Suna no Aquatope characters. That would have been a pretty random crack ship x hill to die on.

I first thought from the hair color that it was Taniguchi on page 2 second panel, shown at the moment of realization from Chika's casual question that for three years she'd only thought Saki was into her when in fact Saki gives off that air to everyone. That would've been funnier tbh.
