Dorothea x Manuela is a high quality ship (but honestly the way Dorothea gets all coy with Edelgard in their supports kinda kills me)

Anyway this manga is pretty funny (or at least interesting) so far, but I'm especially being drawn in by the art.

I'm not that bothered by the kind of downer ending. I guess it's because every possibility that existed at the beginning of the story still exists at the end. It's not as if the protagonist is out of time, or burned any bridges. To me it's just primarily a story about her struggle to understand and accept her own feelings (even if she's not quite there yet), and less about any concretely defined relationship between the two girls.

Seeing a "wholesome and dependable" Kuki is a real trip. So are we gonna see Kana vs. Tsubomi, or is Kana gonna take out all her jealousy on Kuki? (Probably the second one tbh, Kuki's suffering is never over)

IDK if anyone's mentioned yet, but it seems the chapters aren't 'linked' properly or w/e. That is to say, the chapters don't continue onto each other in sequence, it goes from ch2>ch3>ch1

I think like 80% of Itou Hachi's work would go from 'cute but messed up and kinda disturbing' to just 'cute but weird' if they didn't insist on all the relationships ending up romantic in the last few panels/pages/chapters. Then again, that's obviously why they're making these stories, so no sense in complaining.

Uggggg, whyyyyyl! I usually don't hate interloper characters too much, but Onee-chan is awkward and slow enough as it is without needing to go through a "I'm not good enough, x really belongs with y, not with me" angst phase. Bless Saki, though, because she is just powering through it with Mio's help.

I would say Yuri "subtext". But it's a really good series.

You don't need them on too tight, the yuri subtext is obvious enough to earn an "LGBT" tag on HIDIVE. Some characters are more subtle than others about their feelings, but this pair gets some of the best moments so you probably won't be disappointed.

You know, there's next to no FutaKao uploaded here, which is disappointing 'cause it's one of my favorite ships. Seems everyone only likes KuroMaya T-T

This kind of hard boiled stuff isn't exactly what I'm used to, but it's definitely cool and I love the art. One of the credits pages or something said the author was on hiatus for health reasons? I hope they're ok, whether they end up continuing the manga or not.

Mochi's art, crappy? No way. It's definitely more cartoony and simple looking compared to some manga, but it looks appealing and distinct to my eyes, and fits really well with the wacky over-the-top characters/stories they like to use.

Anyway, I liked this one, but IMO it's more perfect as a one-shot. I'd be great if the characters showed up again somewhere else, though.

IDK, this one feels like it has less... personality, I guess? Like, it feels like there's not much that sets it apart from the other thousand yuri mangas about two high school girls who fall in love. The old one had a slow building tension with a kind of detached melancholy atmosphere that drew me in. Mmm I'm not doing a good job of articulating why, but yeah, I like the old one better. But I guess it's too early to say definitively.

Really, though, in a yuri gag manga like this the dad has a good chance of just being written out (death, divorce) so the mom can get a new lady love interest.
