And yet, Oshikko Sensei has only 51 comments. Go figure.

She's a medical professional. She knows what she's doing.

Laika, Pavlov, Pochihachikou and The Real Her can both meet your needs.
Look with your special eyes!

SM is not the same as being mentally ill ^^;

Well LPP though ... right. True. Doesn't mean there can't be another manga like that ;)

Amazing. This chapter made all around even less sense than the first, and it's also now proven that everyone involved is certifiably insane.

Well, somehow still kinda fun.

Also perplexed by this idea that having normal, friendly social relations with the opposite sex somehow inherently lessens the yuri, as if it was something too fragile to survive outside grossly artificial hothouse contexts like all-girls boarding schools or something...

Well, it's a question of balance and tight plotting; the way I see it. As random example, in quite nice Cross Game we've got a baseball anime, right, and it's "a bit" about the relationship between the protagonist and the heroine, of course, but even though both go to school and generally also do other things the only scenes we ever see is them playing baseball, practicing baseball, talking to each other, or talking to other people when there's some relevance to baseball or potentially to the "main" relationship. And that series got a whole 50 episodes, so it's not even short.

This is not because baseball cannot survive outside training fields, and their perfectly normal heterosexual relationship cannot bear the strain of being thrown in between other relationships ... it's merely to tighten the narrative, to show the scenes relevant to the plot (ie winning baseball games and getting the girl). That which doesn't add anything gets cut, that's just good editing, not, I don't know, narrow-mindedness.

Now, obviously your suggestion doesn't come from nowhere and often reactions or how yuri relationships are portrayed indeed come across like "no men allowed here!" It's a problem. It's also a problem that something is in almost all cases either about a lesbian relationship or simply doesn't feature lesbians. It mostly can't, for example, be about softball and only very marginally about lesbians. It'd inevitably be a yuri manga that also features some softball. That's clearly a real issue.

And, certainly, with Rin here we have one of the few examples of a manga that at least tries striking out a tiny bit from this narrow cage. So that's praiseworthy.

But it's still primarily, in any way I read it anyways, some sort of flirtatious yuri story. The relationship between Rin doesn't feel like it'll go anywhere much. And (with the series canceled) that means it feels a bit wasted as there isn't much development - the first few pages about the "people flirt with her / he helps her out / she's too go for any confusion" would have sufficed, imo; there other half of the chapter could have been used for more than a fairly cheap cliffhanger.

Incidentally, there's this vampire series by Melody Taylor, some indie thing, which features (you'll be surprised to learn) a lesbian vampire heroine and her male mentor. It's also about getting her a girlfriend and their relationship, of course, but the "mentoring" relationship is the first one the series tackles; it's very central. However, in that case the guy helps her coming to terms with being a vampire, while she helps him reminding him that even with some tragic past life's not always all rubbish (yeah, it's a bit of a trope-ish thing; I didn't say it was an awesome series ;) ) - so giving space to this made sense as it contributes to the central narrative of the story.

Which this chapter only did in a way that could have been done more effectively, I think. So that's the critique, not there being a guy.

Mh, well, that turned into quite the wall of text. Oh well. Good thing there's so much space on the Internet ...

... now I want it to go down a messed up codependency route were they are weirdly obsessed with each other and constantly reinforcing every bad trait they have.

Plz dont tell me introducing this new male vampire lord is to give a cliche male interfere in yuri couple plot point.

I'm not entirely disagreeing with your points, see above - but you have actually read the manga, right? It basically torpedoes any cliché it comes across immediately. Whenever there's any situation where some trope-ish drama might have started everyone just goes "it's no big deal" and the "story" moves on.

I agree that the manga probably failed to draw in readers properly after the first three-four chapters with something a bit more tangible; something where you can just simply go "this is what's it about".

Personally, I like the slight-paced slice-of-life-ishness and if it had whatever original length it was planned for, I'm sure it would have been worth following it, too. Now the pacing just feels off as it's too short for the carefree meandering about ^^;

When I saw this on their Twitter (and the other posts with the same couple), I actually thought "Seriously..?!" and got worried coz I didn't want the artist to go to jail or something lol

Don't worry, there's no doubt a "All characters involved are 18 years old or above" disclaimer somewhere.

I mean, it's obvious. How anyone can think this is loli is beyond me. Clearly both characters involved are adults. Can't be any other way.

Usually I wouldn't say anything, but with this series being so unfortunately shorter than it should be ... that chapter was wasted! More yuri!

Why is it that people you’d expect to be OK with (or at least familiar with) the fluidity and ambiguity of genders and sexualities in real life become obsessive about rigid categories in fictional stories where authors are free to use fantasy/supernatural/imaginative elements to jumble those categories up even more?

Because there are no tags irl. Except in passports. And everyone knows how much fuss is kicked off about those.

I want a 4th wall one-shot where the characters involved discuss these things. "We can't be together anymore!" "Why?!" "They wouldn't know how to tag this story! We might get confused with ordinary het shit!"

Spanish, page 5 says she's from Lugo.

She's supposedly Spanish, yet Satsuki is not quite a Spanish name.

To be fair, "Japón" is a Spanish family name since Date Masamune send a bunch of people over and some of them didn't return after Christianity was outlawed in Japan / stayed as an embassy. Could be that some of them gave their kids Japanese names*, I don't know.

And it's just a few hundreds years off from knights. Barely an inaccuracy in the grand scheme of things.

*probably not, as they would have been baptized with Christian names themselves

Ah, yes, finally a manga about the much overlooked girl's academies for knights in feudal Europe, populated primarily by cute Japanese exchange students already married to their waifus. It's a shame patriarchal oppression for so long has hidden this intriguing and essentially component of medieval society, and how a bunch of cute girls saved France from the evil English ...

Also, I predict that finally recent findings of medieval Europe being totally into onsen and other bathing/suspiciously Asian activities will be first revealed here.

Why isn't there a love triangle tag?

It's not a triangle when no one is being excluded.

Indeed.

I mean, it's true, but can I just point out how weirdly inaccurate this definition is? After all, a triangle connects each point with both other points. So love triangles really should be called love Vs. Or something.

goes on a crusade to fix this

What’s the healthiest relationship in the series?

The ones were everyone involved is already dead.

How does a divine messenger get food poisoning?!

Yes, this is unrealistic and destroyed the entire credibility of the manga. Dropped.

I feel yuri harems usually are more ... transient? Like Yuricam, or Transistor Venus, or She Gets A Girl ... or in a sense even for example Slow Start. Or something like Iono - so there's the Empress, but for some she might actually be more "secondary", in a sense.

So maybe a protagonist is a "ladykiller" and "gets all them girls" but usually the girls move on once the immediate arc is done; or it's just for a chapter; or they have some "main girl" anyway.

While male harem everybody sticks around as if whatever random loser is currently picked for MC purposes were the last human on earth.

Want I want more of is some action/adventure type of thing where the lead just happens to be a lesbian. Like, 12 Kingdoms with a lesbian. Or Moribito, with Balsa being gay. Anything, really.

Yuri's just always so ... romance-focused. Which of course is often pretty good and the point, but sometimes ...

The ring hanging on her horn would be super-annoying. Every time she moves it'd slap against her forehead. Completely ruins the picture.

I can already see the entire afterlife starting a civil war when Kanna dies.

Bad End:
"Kanna's dead!"
Demons: "Yeeees!"
God: "She lived such a pure life, she'll go to Heaven, where she'll live in purity and innocence, frolicking above the quiet meadows of paradise ..."
Demons: "Noooooo!"

Kanna: "Wait, wait, wait! What about the hot demon sex that I was promised in my afterlife? Hey?! Listen! Nooo...."

I'm guessing that "brand" is Burberry? If so, I have some belts and a scarf from them, and they are of great quality.

As long as you are not a cheating fuck, too, it's all fine!
