well, the way Seju is designed, she has severe insecurities, in a sense that she didn't even feel assured even during her best times with Sumin, flashback in ch56 and again in ch72.. and let alone ch10 and 26.
she herself doesn't believe that anybody would love her the way Sumin once did, and for that she is going to sacrifice every thing she has for what she calls: "the distance where I could feel this emotion" ch45.
if a person doesn't feel worthy of being loved, how could we assume that they have self-respect?
the promises that Sumin made are even more significant to a miserable child like Seju, they were a lifeline to her.. you can see that in the beginning of ch19, no matter how much hate she receives, that one great love made her feel worthy and able to take it all.

but at the same time, she has her pride to show it only and only Sumin is not involved in the picture.

in a matter of fact, Sungji perfectness is one of the factors keeping Sumin feels guilty and unsettled.. in her dream sequence ch50.. the way she views Sungji is: "she is too good for the likes of you".. maybe that's why she was crying badly after Sungji broke up with her, it was her sole mistake with nothing to blame Sungji for.
that's exactly why I don't see Sumin as the one who will take the decision in ending things - if it meant to be ended- even if she wanted to for whatever reason.

I don't think it's ambiguous and I think this Q&A kind of made it more clear. It was meant to happen. It was Seju's mistake. She drank some wine and did what her body wanted.

funny, no wine was there, Whisky and another drink that that bartender offered her.. but I said ambiguous because of the clues that they left.. I'm too lazy to go through them again.. but I talked about it somewhere here previously.
+ it's established by Nammi's phone call in ch49: "omitted some minor details" <- this can change the whole story.

Sungji's motives are always questionable to me for many many reasons, I start with what she started this arc with: it will not end the way you wanted it to .
Anyways, if Sumin and Seju go to the states together, it will be like they are resuming from where they stopped 10 years ago.. how romantic :P I think Sumin will leave with Seju,
1- she never rejected the Chairman's final wish completely. btw, she really cares about him and used to get him presents ch5
2- she might later find out that she herself is also a target not only because of her relation to Seju, but also because she inhirited what it seems a large chunk of money

I guess Seju's father knows the reason why moleguy hurt Sumin.

he trusted him waaay before that incident, he let Saehyun name Seju, check up on her every once in a while, and lastly arrange his last plan and maybe the will.
