Aaaaaaaaand I'm back.

But there's a thing: we get regular releases for 1 x ½ (lucky!) while, as for Ayame 14, we never know when (or rather, if and when) a new chapter will come out... all we can do is wait and pray...

It's the same deal as with Age 15. All the chapters are translated and we've got the same typesetter (Kikaluna) to edit them, so we should hopefully expect a similar kinda release pace.

Really!!??? Oh my goodness, this is great! These are terrific news!
Time to break out the confetti and party!!!

I've said it before, I think, but I'll say it again: of all the hundreds and thousands of series being translated right now, Ayame 14 and 1 x ½ are my two favorites. Top favorites. Absolute favorites. Overwhelming favorites.

But there's a thing: we get regular releases for 1 x ½ (lucky!) while, as for Ayame 14, we never know when (or rather, if and when) a new chapter will come out... all we can do is wait and pray...

That's what makes times like these really wonderful. When I came right now to the Recently Added page and found 3 new releases of Ayame 14, I felt an electric shock as if I had placed my finger into a light socket and then hit the switch. Yup, that's the effect this manga has on me. Just call me a crazy Ayame wotaku. In fact, Eripiyo's love for Maina has nothing on my feelings for Ayame.

This is so adorable. I love yuri manhua.

I wish somebody uploaded She Is Still Cute Today to the reader...

I second that. You can never have too much yuri manhua.

PS: thank goodness, the rants on Chinese communism have stopped.

Lol, Sayaka suspects she was RAVISHED while sleeping.

She would never believe all Mako did was take a pic of her sleeping face.

Back on topic, I really am surprised at how quickly the yuri-manga cat got out of the bag. Here I was expecting it to drag on with her hiding it well into the double-digit chapters.

I know, right?

Page 19 hit like a hammer.

Page 20 hit like a few hammers more.

(And the funniest thing is: only when I reached these two pages, I realized I'd been unconsciously identifying with Izumi all along the chapter. Duh to me.)

Three days ago, I wrote this:

Is elf girl into yuri manga? And does she read online series?
If she doesn't, it's likely she will never find out...

She already found out. On the first day. Talk about being naive, me.

Awww, really hope someone picks up the manga for this.

Remember: the manga is by Hirao Auri. If you have read his other works, you know what to expect.
(If you haven't... well, let me just tell you that there are already 6 volumes out, and Eri and Maina haven't made any progress since chapter 1: no kisses, no dating, no talking about their feelings, nothing at all. >_< )

Haha, as a big fan of Francisco Ibáñez and his work, I wholeheartedly appreciate the contribution!
(From "El Cacao Espacial" -- right?)

^ She was introduced already at the end of the previous chapter, though. ;)

Oh, you're right. Although at the time we had no idea who she was -- or what she was to Minori. Funny how I forgot about that scene.

^^ Are you referring to Komari's lying to her bf? Because, if that's it, I seriously doubt anyone in this sanctuary of yuri gives a rat's ass about that dude.

TBF to the lad so far as we know he's basically getting the raw deal through no fault of his own.

I know. It's just his bad luck that he's in a yuri manga, and most likely won't get any sympathy from the readers.

Don't tempt me to dig up that old press photo of Brezhnev and Hoenecker bro-smooching...

Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.

Chekhov's Manaka.

The moment she was mentioned (and appeared in a flashback) I knew that, before the end of the chapter, she would return to Minori. And, of course, it happened.

Of all literary devices, Chekhov's gun gotta be the most used in romantic/funny manga series. If I had a dime for every time some character recalls some element from events past, only to see said element come into play again before the end of the chapter, I could buy my own publishing company.

Just thought I'd remind everyone this was a thing.

Aah! My thing is not forgotten!
I should probably bump/repost it since it's waaay back on page 54 of the comments...one of these days.

Believe me, we haven't forgotten.
Your hard work is massively appreciated.

Oh, Akira, my hero! ❤️ I knew I could trust you to do the right thing, read the situation correctly and go for the jugular of the problem!

I dunno if y'all are reading "Run Away with Me, Girl" (if you aren't, you should) but there's a recurrent theme in that story about how the "normal" way to live your life is to do all the things people around you are doing, just like society wants you to do -- never mind whether or not it's what you really want to do. Because of a wish to be normal, and the association of "normal" with "socially-sanctioned behavior," two of the MCs in that manga end up dating males even though they are lesbians.

All of Ayako's worries stem from this misconception: she's amalgamating "correct" and "normal" and "right" with "going with the crowd, doing just what everyone does." This is a horribly toxic and dangerous way of thinking that has historically lead to the damning of homosexuality, polyamory and miscegenation (to name only a few). Ayako has persuaded herself that her feelings are wrong because society would disapprove of them. This is bad and sucks big time.

Thank goodness Akira is here to set things straight. (Pardon my French!)

Hehehe, this was so funny.

Here's to remind everyone that there is a big difference between Ayako/Asuka and these two!

Y'see, Asuka is a high schooler and nearly a grown-up. In one or two years she will be in college. She's way closer to being an adult than Yuuki.

A mother doesn't treat her daughter in middle school the same way she treats her daughter in high school. There's a huge difference. A middle schooler is closer to a child than to an adult. (Well, actually, that's not always true... but mothers will assume it is true, and act accordingly!)

It makes perfect sense that, while Yuuki is trying to be all suave 'n sexy to seduce Sayaka, Sayaka is like: "Never mind that shit. Have your grades improved!? What do you mean, no!?!? GO STUDY!!!"*
