In any case, an earlier post said "Shiho has no redeeming qualities" in the same paragraph as they stated that she has a pathological need to be the best.
It's... not very difficult to pull character development out of a complex like that. All she has to do is find someone who's absolutely, conclusively better than her at something that she can't fathom giving up, AND be in love with this person. Then she gets to have a whole journey about it.
Or the author could Given it up and she patches over her broken heart by ruining every relationship she could possibly have then fall for a normal-ass wife five years later.

Pulling character development for Shiho isn't necessarily the issue here, it's the timing. She's established herself as the villain for so long that any development we get now will be too little too late, unless this gets drawn out even more. I don't think resolving her attitude or relationship problems will be nearly as easy as you make it out to be...

kinda weird that people are calling shiho 'irredeemable" because she's been kind of a bitch a few times and messed with the MCs. she's not murdered anyone (yet). like, that's her role in the story, we'll see where it goes.

Unfortunately, you're right. Her role is to be a bitch, and she's doing a marvelous job. But that's also why she's so unpopular. It seems like her only purpose is to cause a rift between Yori and Hima, so her character feels incredibly shallow and threadbare.

If there is a redemption for her somewhere down the line, I don't think the majority of the reader base will care. Shiho's established herself as the antagonist at this point, and her past and demeanor make it incredibly difficult for most people to empathize with her. I would not be surprised in the least if her next action causes her popularity to drop so much that she vanishes completely after the battle of the bands.

Messed up as both moms are, I sincerely hope Tongtong's mom pulls through. She might have her priorities ass-backwards, but she cares very deeply for Tongtong, and the fact that she immediately and openly accepts her GF with no hesitation makes me think she's the kind of mom Xiao Lu needs.

It's the reality for many girls like her. To feel powerless in a situation where the only person giving you food, clothes and a roof over your head can't accept you for who and what you are. You don't see a way out, and you're afraid of what might happen, so you zip your lip and tough it out because "maybe they'll understand."

I'm at Chapter 12 and I still don't understand the MC. Good chunks of this story are so cringeworthy I have to minimize the window on occasion just to process what just happened.

I’m not sure why you are attracted to the story, but I have a pretty good idea why I like it.

First of all, give up any notion of comparing this to real-life behavior—it would never happen, and even if it did, things would never play out this way—the authorities, school or police, would be called in sooner rather than later.

But in the skewed world that this story depicts, I find humor and pleasure in two things:

• Komaki’s stoical or bemused reactions to Hishikawa’s bizarre antics. The degree of latitude she gives Hishikawa indicates that she basically likes her (in the friend sense at least) and is trying indirectly to socialize her.

• Hishikawa’s attempts to rein herself in and to act “normal” (as she partially and inadequately understands the concept) are to me quite touching and rather endearing. (And the failures of those attempts are often quite hilarious.)

Overall I just think it’s funny.

I think Komaki is the reason why I'm sticking around. She has the patience of a saint...

Author really did the "threesomes are a great solution to love triangles". More authors should follow that route

Let's be honest. Love triangle are boring now. There are like 2 manga with poly ending(not counting H) There is one that had potential to be a pretty good manga with poly ending after some hints and foreshadow but the author changed her mind and went for the mono route. I wouldn't mind if this end with a 3p relation tho if that's the case there wont be any selfcest I guess

If you're talking about If You Can See Love, then I agree for sure. IMO it was a horribly rushed ending with too many loose ends and almost zero fluidity. The bulk of the story was good, but the ending just completely fell flat.

I pray that this series doesn't take the same route...

Hrm...yeah, honestly, devoting a volume bonus chapter or something to Wakana's relationship with Yuina would have helped with this recent addition. The kiss itself isn't forced, but it's lacking building up even for a side chara relationship. Useless Princesses handled it better.

My theory on what will happen.
Senpai will end up in a threesome with both Nanasawas at the same time.
Something (a kiss between the two Nanasawas, or both of them having an orgasm at the same time) will trigger the "spell" and the older one will be "absorbed" by the younger one. She and senpai will wonder what just happened and eventually continue their lives as a couple.
Meanwhile the older one will come back to her own time but in that timeline she and Senpai will be a couple, Senpai never got married and she is a kinda successful actress.

A risky idea...but if done right, it would lead to the ending quite nicely. Because Seto isn't comfortable with the idea of a threesome yet, it may be awhile before we see something like that, though.

This feels ridiculously rushed. While I'm all for happy endings, it felt like it skipped too many questions. The red herring with the three teachers was already suspicious, but this...this feels wrong somehow.

I'm happy she finally realized her feelings, don't get me wrong. But calling this a "speedrun" is putting it mildly. Almost like Rinna was just axed right in front of us.

I may be a writer, but even I was impressed by LiLa's essay. If I was your teacher I'd have given that an A+!

That being said, one thing that still surprises me is how patient Sakurako has been this whole time. With how slow Kasumi is taking those steps, I was prepared - maybe as early as Chapter 20 - for Sakurako to push a bit harder to make their relationship more solid. But, as you said, her fears of losing Kasumi to even the smallest perceived things made her hold her ground, and that is what helped keep Kasumi by her side this whole time. If their relationship was a gas in the beginning, it's almost a solid by now - "almost" - and I do hope they make it official at some point.

In all honesty, a series like this is precisely what the yuri genre has always needed. It's truly a platinum-ringed diamond in a sea of fluff.

Might have missed a few crucial points myself, as I wrote this with a massive headache, but I still root for these girls to reach that beautiful wedding day!
