To make things more exciting before new chap, any predictions?

Sex and Seju leaves :)

Would also surprise me if Seju leaves because of what she witnesses at the night or any reasons :).

Her disappearance was mentioned so many times that I want to see it happen before the manhwa ends.

Obsession, jealousy, fear and analogous terms in its neutral state is "sustaining".

Sounds exhausting.

Feb. 6. Are we suppose to talk this to the other thread? the off-topic one?...

There is another thread?! O_O

well, It's the dead thread two days before the new chapter release..

Wonder why...

Anyone here believe the next chapter is the final chapter?

Side note: I wish this manhwa had a larger audience. Wouldn't it be great if it was animated or had a live-action version? With mangas, at least there is some hope for an anime, but not with manhwas.

The chance is almost zero unfortunately, due to, as you stated, manhwa and genre. Movie adaptation usually sucks, I don't want one unless they can convince Taeyeon to play Sumin, Tiffany for Seju, Jessica for Sungi, Sooyoung for Nami :3. The chance of this happening is absolutely zero :'{

once the chairman dies, there is no one to protect Sumin or Seju. The chairman himself mentioned how he looked out for Sumin in ch58. No one can endanger their lives as long as he is alive. Whether Sumin dates Seju or not, this is irrelevant to the Baeks now.. remember, Sumin inherited a big chunk as well. If the chairman dies, both have to leave.

The way I reason this
1. Family is solely driven by money. Look at the eldest's attitude in the fam meeting.
2. There is monetary gain in killing off Seju and her mother. There is also risk in doing so.

  • In her mother's case, the gain is more than risk because if chairman ends up marrying her, she may get 50-100% of the fortune/power with chairman dead or alive.
  • In Seju's case, the gain is lower assuming power goes to the eldest (usually the case), and money is equally distributed among the children. The risk is very high when chairman is actively looking out for her. Risk is lower after chairman dies, but then gain is zero because distribution is already set.
  • So, if Seju does not involve in family business, and I believe chairman has no intention in letting her get involve, and stop showing up in the main house, then what's the point of harassing her?

Disclaimer: just my rationale, rich assholes may operate differently.

  • Even though Sumin initially declined in ch58, you see her almost discussing this topic with Seju in ch62. (she accepted but held it off? why?)

It was rude to decline a deadman's wish. Whether she will carry out his wish is another story. She assumed Seju knew and was curious when she would leave.

  • why isn't Sumin motivated to find another job up till now?

She is motivated now? I thought she is very happily unemployed.

The ring symbolises promises & trust.. why was it so hard for Sumin to keep it on.. did she really mean these promises no matter how much she tried.. is she able to fulfil them?

That makes sense.

page 363

Just read the Wall of Text. Phew, I guess long comment is the trend now.

mpgpeg and maybe several people as well mentioned loose end. I honestly do not see any loose end except for the triangle thingy. Most things should resolve themselves.

  • supporting casts: they will go on living their lives.
  • assassin: get a new job
  • "family": once chairman dies and the fortune is distributed, there will not be any incentive in harassing Seju; hurting her may backfire. Likewise, Seju can cut all ties with them.

Since you guys are on the topic of Sungi's ring (I have my take on whether Sungi intentionally left the ring but will let you two sort it out), after Sumin knew Sungi misplaced her ring, why did she take off hers as well?

from your point of view, Sungji's moving out is a metaphor for Sumin's moving on. Then what does Sumin's insistence to keep the house mean?
Dammit.. I'm smirking uncontrollably now hehehe

Hmmm, thanks for asking the obvious, appreciated. – ﹏ –.

Short answer. She could not let go. She tried (to show herself she was trying). Returning everything else that was insignificant but left out the one thing that matters.

Unlike other gifts,
- they adopted the house for each other. Sumin chose the house because it was close to work, close to Seju. Seju bought the house because Sumin liked it.
- the house is probably the oldest gift from Seju that Sumin keeps (if she actually tossed away her ring). The space holds time and memory.
- when they made love in that house, it was so gentle...unlike the hotel f!ck. Did Sungi and Sumin ever have (uninterrupted) sex in that house? I don't remember.
- When
-- Seju asked "if you don't like my name that much, you can always leave."
-- Sumin answered "you bought the house because of me". I also read it as "I chose the house because of you".

She is (subconsciously?) holding on to their space, time and memory.

But don't go celebrate just yet. Contradiction is Sumin's trademark. I believe it will doom her relationship with both Seju and Sungi, as a result, setting my Seju free (<- only thing that matters!!!)

Nora

Sungi - it is 50/50 whether she will stay. Will her love be able to overcome the she-still-loves-her-and-she-probably-loves-her-more-than-she-loves-me feeling?

not as simple as that, from my point of view. It's rather, did I love Sumin or loved the image I created about her.. this image is not Sumin.

I am not sure where the image vs reality comparison was illustrated. What is her ideal Sumin (please don't say Dawoon)? Mind referencing it so mortals like me can grasp?

Although, the doubt is common in relationship; first attraction, then comes passion, finally reality kicks in. Only when they survive reality, their love will last.

did Sumin love me because she wanted to love me or she redirected her affection..
delusion #2 ch73, the talk in park.. Sungji talks about her brother and sister in law.. the miscarriage they had and redirection of affection.. her question to Sumin wasn't direct.. but it was to discuss the idea I just explained.

This point I agree. Things I got out from the park talk
- miscarriage, infertility, affection -> the pain from your past, the love you cannot give her, the affection you give me.
- did it look that way? -> are you giving me the love you could not give her?
- no, they seem to really like you -> no, the affection is real.
- I should move out -> YOU should move the f*ck out. LoL.

Since no one is gonna defend SuminxSungji, I will talk about why I chose SuminxSungji as endgame instead xD.

I am also in support of SuminxSungi endgame or everyone parts ending...for Seju's sake. I'd been team pink since the first (or maybe second) sex scene where Seju said "sometimes it feels like you still love me", but as the story progressed, as Seju became more and more miserable, I felt like the best thing for her was to let go.

Bartender - This incident is already insignificant compares to the 10-year struggle they had gone though. Neither Seju nor Sumin will bring it up. Sungi may bring it up, but it will not happen in the present of Seju, so the perspective will still be one sided. In the end, I don't think the incident will resurface.

Sungi - it is 50/50 whether she will stay. Will her love be able to overcome the she-still-loves-her-and-she-probably-loves-her-more-than-she-loves-me feeling?

Sumin - agree with your reasoning that she will not break up with Sungi. She is also the type that once their mind is made up, it is extremely hard to change them. Even Sungj leaves her in the end, I don't think she would go back to Seju. She didn't get back to Seju in Sungi's first breakup, why would you think she would go back to her in the second breakup?

Seju - I hope TG answer this: what is Seju's take away from all these struggles? For me, a (mere) Sumin is no longer sufficient. If sumin gets hit by a bus and dies, I am 90% sure Seju will die within the same week if not the next day. There gotta be a way for her to survive.

No mater who Sumin and Seju end up marrying, they will always be the ones that make their hearts ache the most. #fated.

Yeah, I definitely do see myself lucky in that department. The wait time for me was shorter. Anyone know Nisekoi? SPOILERS I only watched the anime, but I cannot imagine how Team Onodera fans felt after going through more than 200 chapters just to be let down.

Team Onodera here. I don't need to be reminded of that memory. T______T

If you are interested in another Yuri, Octave was my favorite before WDTFS.

Do you mean Seju hired Sungji for Sumin to move on? If she did so, then why did she talk to Sungji and try to prevent their relationship from progressing any further in chapter 27? I would understand if she would AFTER finding out Sumin loves her. But that is not the case here. Basically, did something change her mind before Sumin told her she still loves her?

These contradictory actions of Seju bothered me for awhile, I had a theory (definitely no proof, and not as imaginative as Nora or Foxy Lady lol).

  1. Did Seju cherry pick Sungi for Sumin?
-- Yes to this means Seju had a motive. You can stop reading this post, go with Foxy Lady's "Seju was letting go" theory. Hahaha.

-- No means Seju noticed Sungi on her first day. Her instinct told her something interesting would happened. She introduced herself to Sungi.

  2. Why did Seju encourage Sumin and Sungi to date and then the talk in ch. 27?
-- Seju knew what Sumin liked. She probably sensed Sungi had an interest in Sumin, too. Their dating was inevitable, she would rather accelerate the cycle (dating and breakup) than giving them more time to develop feeling, thus the encouragement and "pity" talk. Her plan A.

  3. Well, plan A did not work out. Plan B. Fast forward to the ring and cheating incident. Someone (been awhile, can't remember who, probably Nora) said Seju could not have time Sungi's arrival and planned out the whole getting caught part. I partially agreed. She could not have predicted everything, but she could still do it and hope for the best (most schemes work that way). And I thought that was a very intelligent move because
-- a. If the plan worked and it did, she would have created a huge conflict between Sumin and Sungi.
-- b. If it did not, she would have guilt the shit out of Sumin after the sex, and she could "accidentally" reveal to Sunji that Sumin had cheated on her, thus still created a big conflict between them.

I think/hope things were quite straightforward after this part of the story.

very impossible.. how come that Seju character was born unplanned when the "getting caught" scene of ch56 was planned waaaaay before the serialisation began. (official source).
season 2, review:
http://imgur.com/a/zLKPX

It is possible. They said (sumin) getting caught was planned, but they didn't say she was planned to be caught with Seju... could have been with Ms. Choi.

Regardless of whether Seju was an unplanned child or not, I am glad they made her, love her and all her flaws.

Nooooooo, I can't bare to wait another extra hour for the next chapter. Just go with your gut feeling, and let biatches argue whatever the hell they want to argue. They should have purchased and reread the official translation anyway.

In confession - yes. Confession is important so it should go the formal way.

In Japan people have no problem with using "ski" instead of "shiteru" even to confess these days.

LOL. I speak both Cantonese (language spoken in Hong Kong, big city) and Mandarin (spoken in Shanghai, another big city). I am in my 20s (arguably young) and also from a big city. I have never used "wo ai ni" (I LOVE you) in a confession and will never believe someone who confesses with that phrase. It is just too cheesy, too soon in a relationship to a point it destroys the essence of that phrase and the sincerity of the confessor. During intimate moment, in bed, staring at her eyes... is a different story.

I remembered asking my Japanese teacher about "daisuki" (I like you a lot) vs "aishiteru" (I love you). She said Japanese almost never use "aishiteru" because Japanese are very reserved; "aishiteru" is too intense for them.

joined Mar 28, 2017

In Japanese you have shiteru and ski. Both mean love but shiteru is more formal and official than ski which can be used as "like" too. The context is what's more important. Isn't it the same in Korean? I know Chinese has similar system where ai is more formal and xi is more informal and can be used for both like and love.

I speak Chinese.
In the context of relationship, xi-huan (literally means like) is most likely used in confession, it is weird for couples already in relationships to use xi-huan (they already know they like each other). On the other hand, it is more common to use ai( literally means love) when couple reassure each other of their feeling.

In this situation, if sumin was speaking chinese, I expect her to use ai...not xi-huan.

I would be really angry if I was sungji... she let her ex stay in her home... but refuse her gf to moving in....lmao)

The moving in part - I think sungi was giving sumin a gentle push to move out because she knew it was seju's house. She did not really mean to move in. I had a feeling that sungi would not mind if sumin did not want to live together yet, but she would be uneasy if sumin did not move out of there.

joined Mar 28, 2017

If both are stubborn and refuse to let

Will sumin make a decision to end the things?

She already did though. She returned almost everything to Seju and told her that she wanted to end their relationship. Yea, Sumin could not completely let go and hypocritically hang on to the house, but regardlessly she had made an effort to end their relationship. Baby step.

I vote for seju to leave. She needs to learn to live without Sumin. The other two girls can function fine on their own, can't say the same for seju. Only when she realizes that life without Sumin does not equate death, then she is truly healed.

joined Mar 28, 2017

I want Seju to see Sungi and Sumin have sex. I was hoping this chapter will escalate...something, but unfortunately the situation is still a deadlock. I am hoping in the next chapter, after watching Sumin and Sungi's intimate moment, seju silently leaves them, disappears and goes find meaning to her life. Sumin will face the reality of really losing seju. If Seju is her true love, she will go find her; otherwise stay will sungi. A few years later, seju may come back (with a hot chick of course) as a friend.

joined Mar 28, 2017

Seju was drunk. Bartender took her home.
Scenario 1 - she passed out. Bartender proceeded with the sex. This was rape, not cheating, I would argue this was not even her mistake. People don't (and shouldn't) expect to get raped after a few drinks in the bar.
Scenario 2 - she in her drunk state engaged in sexual act with him. This was cheating.
And of course TG left out the details, so we can argue to death.

After seeing drunk Sumin and Nami,
I am leaning toward scenario 2 (parallelism; otherwise, Nami raped Sumin).

And I do believe they had sex, not buying the alcohol poisoning argument. If he was knowledgeable enough to warm her with his body heat, he should had called the ambulance as well, not falling asleep with her.
