So I stand by the statement that by Cune standards it's doing absurdly well, and thus Cune's not going to cancel it anytime soon.

You're not really standing by a statement. You're changing it to try to massively move the goalposts. And even having done that, I'm not sure it's really a justifiable statement. In Cune you'd expect the really popular series to be among the ones they usually place near the front, and Cheerful Amnesia isn't one of those. It ought to be popular enough that vol 4 probably won't be the last, but talking about that as though it were absurd is... absurd.

It's easily one of the most popular series in comic Cune right now. To the point where they had Tamamusi do the cover for their Yuri Drill anthology, which featured a large number of their artists, and even released it on the same day as the most recent volume of Amnesia. As well as advertising them together pretty heavily. They clearly expected Amnesia's popularity would help it sell.

I don't know what other Cune series could be selling so much better as to just call Amnesia's sales "okay".

You're effectively arguing this like it's supposed to be a given that there's multiple series in Cune that are selling "absurdly" well. Cune hasn't had any genuinely big sellers yet.

Yuri Drill originated as Tamamusi's idea, so of course they let her do the cover and it got promoted with her series.

What Tamamusi said of Cheerful Amnesia sales after vol 3's release:

明るい記憶喪失の方も好調だそうで一安心です^^

So good enough for peace of mind for now.

Random thought does anyone know if amnesia-san's phone pin of 2664 have any significance? Or is it just a random number?

She got the right number by adding the 3 dates together, meaning all 3 dates were important to her.

Tamamusi never fails to deliver. This is too damn short. I hope there will be a sequel in the next issue.

Her story in the next issue of Eclair was:

Cute doujin. Hopefully there will be a sequel to this.

It's not a doujin, it's a one-shot from Eclair.

I was actually curious about that one, does Wakusei Closet REALLY gets marketed as yuri/girls friendship/whatever?
it was a interesting read but it being tagged shoujo ai in some of the readers had me startled.

It's "Yuri x SF Survival" according to the obi.

Yes, that were announced as yuri from the very start so that there was never the need to even discuss their legitimacy.

Not everything that turns out to be yuri is announced as yuri and being described as "yuri" by the marketing does not even answer whether a series will have yuri romance by the end. For instance, I don't know whether Wakusei Closet or Catcher in the Rhyme will go further than Hanigare currently has.

That never happened before

There are yuri manga that were ultimately romance where it wasn't clear from the beginning that they would be.

It's ending this month, at chapter 18.

When Lily is in a box and pulp, what does the letter mean with "dragged her"?

It was mentioned and illustrated in the previous chapter. Her sister tries to correct her behavior by having her tied up with a rope and dragged around heaven by Pegasus.

What's with those first two pages though? I mean, first something completely unrelated/a fantasy. Then a flash back. Then back to the story.

The 2 color pages are basically what Tamamusi used getting center color pages in the magazine for, and are separate from the chapter itself and weren't placed with it in the tank.

With how absurdly popular the series is, I doubt it will end anytime soon.

It's apparently selling okay, but not "absurdly".

and hopefully not a 5 minutes per episode format x_x

There's only 17 chapters at this point and those chapters aren't long or anything. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is going to be short episodes.

Good news everyone. This manga has 5 chapters.
Bad news everyone. Still no translation ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Five chapters, but currently unfinished due to Mebae dying. Arata has said it will be restarting this year.

My Google translate skills are not as good as I had hoped but I'm pretty sure The dude proposed to Pikari and she accepted. He asks something about getting married one day and she says yes. Can a fluent speaker confirm or deny?

Yeah, basically. He didn't mean it as a proposal, but Pikari took it that way.

In the college arc, Sakurako and Kasumi spend a lot of time hanging out with their new friends Moka and Koruri. Sakurako is a bit shocked when it becomes clear that Moka has many sex friends, both female and male. Koruri is who Moka is serious about though and Moka has frequently asked her out. For now, Koruri is happy remaining friends. Moka often stays over at Koruri's house but it seems Koruri hasn't agreed to sex.

In the special between ch 49 and 50, Koruri has agreed to start dating Moka.

In ch 50, Sakurako and Kasumi learn that Seri will start at the same university as them. Maybe she'll show up more often again. She'll be living in dorms because she wants to, while Shouko, who will work as a TV assistant director, is renting a place 20 minutes away by foot. She gave Seri a key.

I really don't understand the censorship in hentai, It seems like all they're required to do is put a black rectangle on most of the clit. Is there some sort of hang-up with showing the clitoris in Japan? Same thing applies to the censorship of penises which seem to just have to cover a bit of the glans. (Basically the same bits, at least in terms of how the genitals develop as a fetus.)

Japan, like a lot of countries, has a law against distributing obscene material. Those laws end up being a matter of precedent and interpretations that depend on social norms. In practice Japan's porn industries are mostly allowed to self-regulate in various ways. The tiny transparent bars is how far the ero manga industry has dared to push the limits with their display of self-regulation. It probably isn't actually enough to protect someone in court if they did get prosecuted, but that very rarely happens.

On thing to remember though is now the author has a publisher and editors to answer to and give suggestions/imput on where they think the story should go and what should be in it. It is not like it be the first time publishers pushed a author to make changes in a story.

From the beginning when it was in Hirari, it has always had the same publisher (Shinshokan) and probably the same editor.

“Hey, Ogino-sensei, we had an artist fail to deliver a 28-page story for our 18+ yuri anthology. You know that 20-page story about cute high school girls you’re almost done with? Can you flesh it out with a sex scene so we can print it in this magazine instead of the one it was scheduled to go in? You can? Great! Thanks!”

Or something like that.

Ogino was certainly not in L Girls just as a late addition. This was the 2nd of 5 he did and he was treated like one of the main draws.

The anthology series (not just L Girls but its predecessors too) was one where it was far from unusual for the sex to be quite a small part of the stories. Which seems to make sense for yuri. Most of Ogino's stories in there treated the sex scene as the culmination.

At page 7 I realized this was from the YURI DRILL anthology which is like a manga textbook of yuri, and that this was Mochi au Lait giving a crash course on all of the biggest yuri tropes, with one page per trope.

That's not really what Yuri Drill is. It's more like mangaka being challenged to come up with ideas of what can be done for the themes given.

On the childhood friends page, when one says you can make kids by kissing and the other says it's a pun, anyone know what the original Japanese is to explain said pun?

kissu (kiss) and kizzu (kids)

キッス vs キッズ in katakana

I feel that "Sisters Yuri" is a mysterious hurdle for me

Wait, Mochi said that??

The Japanese use "hurdle" as a metaphor for when raising expectations leads to a danger of being perceived to have disappointed. So I believe Mochi is laughing about extra pressure from being best known for sisters yuri, leading to taking this one in a weird direction.

The way Yuri Drill worked, the book was divided into sections for the themes, sisters yuri being one of them, with various mangaka doing a page, so it also means they're kind of up against other mangaka's ideas for what to do with the theme.

No new chapter in Galette No.6 :(

Is this the second time they skip it?

No. It started in issue 2.

This is the 3rd chapter of Mushoku to JK. Seems like Eclair Blanche is getting ignored by fan translators?
