There's a pretty sad element lurking in the background here, in that after µ's disbanded, Maki ended up reverting to the way she was beforehand, playing the piano as a refuge from the stresses of living the life her parents laid out for her, and feeling empty without "those girls". It's treated as a bright, wonderful thing that she feels she can't ever match again, which doesn't bode well for her future life. At least Riko gives her momentary respite from that.

The way LL is set up, Maki really catches it in the neck no matter which way she goes. She either leaves her passion for music behind, the thing she really loves the most, and consigns it to hobby at best while playing the good little heiress. Or else she defies them to stick with her real dream and faces a rift with the parents that, in the anime at least, she loves and relies on so much. Neither are really good options.

That does sound like a good deduction, very fitting for the tone of this story, but this story aside I'm sure either way could develop in a more positive manner as well. If it was her parents dream to have her succeed them then enevitably there will be some dissepointment, but come on it's their precious daughter Maki, they'll get over it.

A good nights sleep is the reward, I mean a good mornings sleep. I wonder who has the day shift.

Makoto's style is a bit much for me, but for what he is trying to do, he is in a league of his own, Patchy so cute!

Thank you so much for the new chapter, I'm liking the manga a lot so far, hope to see more. There was things I liked about the first season of the anime, but I couldn't quite get into it, the manga has got me a lot more engaged in the characters and setting, perhaps it can help win me over.

It might be in poor taste, but I got a good laugh from their expresions when the DVD came on.

Thanks so much for having done this series DR! I might have totally overlooked it otherwice if this manga hadn't clued me in on it. The anime is fantastic, never would have guessed that a series like this would reach sci-fi levels of Shirow Masamune or The Matrix. Best one I have seen since Madoka Magica, so thanks again!

I doubt things would be this neat, but still it was great! It was fun seeing Maki get a "kohai" and I like how they formed a bond not based on being an idol fan.(sort of, although she was idolizing her) Does this match up with what happends in Sunshine, was Riko totaly clueless about idols and is the timeframe plausible?

Great short, even though they never struck me as that, it's possible they could have moment like this. Do want more A-rise, I would like more Saint Snow as well.

I liked it for showing us a different take on Maki and in the end it was suprisingly fluffy and lighthearted. I do agree with peeps here that it felt out of character for the dad especially and also it seemed somewhat forced that Nico would be the one dealing with this, but it could happen, she is technically the club president after all.

I also found it a bit funny to see MakiNico slapping eachother around lol, litteraly this time, not verbally.

The Zun Slayer part is always great, the hot water bottle part is good too.

Hehe clever girl.

Yata could soon be a harem protagonist, she still has a long way to go to beat Reimu tho.

Don't worry Makoto, you made Marisa plenty cute in this. Nice to see the vampiares behave like the imps that they are.

I remember this one, the part where Letty shows up is kinda epic.

That ending was great... I mean awful, stil it made me laugh.

My impression of Tatsuta is awful, so I thought this was going yandre as well.

This was really good, the fashion show could have benefited from better art a few times, but I like this connection.
