... frankly, those early mythologies often were way more out there than any modern Internet thing. Full of violence, incest, rape, and often all mixed up with each other. Gods ripping themselves apart or swallowing others or birthing them as half-animals and whatnot. What's making an (retrospectively obvious) joke about "plugging in" compared to that? ^^;

I don't have any regrets either.

I laughed way too hard at this. But then I was just plugging in my iPhone ... I'll never look at it the same way.

It's not even p&c adventures, not really. They made this super-niche product of interactive fiction, bought super-expensive licenses, never managed to expand the concept to appeal to a broader/different audience, and on top the company probably wasn't very well run.

Although I don't wish misfortune on anyone, I won't miss them ^^;

e: Played some Labyrinth of Refrain recently. Don't know about serious yuri content, but there is a nun/witch who wants to show the witch heroine her potatoes (tl: tries to drug and rape her).

Frankly, I expected the older one to be more pushy and more of a Casanova-type (just by the title). But she seems fairly happy to go along with what the younger one wants, and doesn't seem to be pushing too much. There are many, many manga plots that come across as much more questionable.

Also, the agency is called "Waste Disposal", not, I don't know, "Anti-Apocalypse Agency" (AAA), so I don't think the story wants to portray them as all that doom and gloom. Just something some people have to get rid of.

I guess it happens for comedic effect and trope-reversal reasons, but I agree that the setup felt a bit lazy. Well, let's see where it goes from there ^^;

Exactly. In Japan I think you are still considered a minor at 18.

This confuses me as well. Japan has actually a super-low age of consent at 13. Of course, there's local laws that raise this in various ways to 16-18, but I still don't see how it'd be illegal. Unless there's something about lesbian sex technically being outlawed? But then age doesn't matter anyway ...

It doesn't, but the last arc is a lot about het; or having girls seduced away by men instead of yuri shenanigans. Looked pretty crap to me, so enjoy this craziness while it lasts.

The mixer trope in yuri manga is really getting old and annoying, especially considering that it almost always ends the same way.

Yeah, the wide-world is weird like that. Just look at the Sekai Maou discussions, with Maou wandering around with cute Nikka, and then people comment about her settling down with the hero guy. What is wrong with those people? Better enjoy this oasis here, where everything makes sense.

And yes, in the Jun chapter, when he asks her when she realized, the flashback shows her with Miyuki. So probably that was a "this is nice, but it'd be better with mom ... wait a minute!" moment.

Also, no way this "we're not making any drama, even when it's about something like incest"-story features rape. Maybe (probably) senpai was pushy with her kissing, but I doubt they went further than that ...

Still the best yuri manga currently in scanlation, if you ask me. Which you didn't. But you could have. Everything just makes sense.

I wonder whether alcohol was involved in Akira "killing" her brother? Drunk driving? Or might be unrelated, of course, unlike the romantic interests (ha ha ...).

Well. That part-time guy wouldn't get so much screen time if he weren't there for a reason. Chekov's male character, basically. So, clearly, while we're being baited with "ha ha, it's like you are girlfriends" there'll develop a contrived love triangle with that guy in the middle over the next twenty chapters, before the series will abruptly end with an inconclusive, satisfies-nobody-end and possibly a vague promise for a sequel that'll never happen.

And I'm totally not just saying this because this is my 666th post and it felt appropriately evil to say.

That "Beato" shit already drove me nuts in the anime, do we really need to replicate it in writing? ^^;

I like it partially, and partially I find it too stereotypical-manga-esque.

Right now for the most part the drama is basically just that the brother is dead.

If I wanted to be suspicious I'd say that the drama will be at some point about the younger one getting a boyfriend - namely her co-worker at her part-time job - and the older one having become emotionally too dependent on her; and unable to cope with being "left behind". I think there's at least some hints that some characters consider her behavior to be somehow unhealthy, so I wouldn't be surprised if The End would be about "moving on" which might very well mean they'll both also physically move away (from each other).
