Wasn't a big fan of Kaoru till 189. I mean I get that she's been a part of pushing the story along for Shizuka (and possibly Honoka and Hibiki), but till now she's been more of a plot device than an actual character to me.
But with this she's changed, reborn by Bouchan.
Kaoru has become a playful scamp, instead of being a cruel player. Looking forward to more of her now.

I think what is also interesting is the fact that we are pretty sure of when all this is going to come to a head - the concert.
Aki is throwing down, and we are probably up for some angsty moments from here on out.
Until she sings that song, that's when we find out what side things will fall on (my guess).

What's going to bug me the most about this is Mai taking advantage of (if not predating upon) Nanoha's kindness, and the fact that it's probably going to have a big negative impact on Nanoha when this all blows up.
I realize manipulators are a pretty common trope for a series, but they just always pinch a nerve for me especially.

When will they learn the perils of hand holding?
