At least going by the translated title, that doesn't seem to require Isekai at face value, just a heroine girl going after a girl who could be considered a villainess?

When they say "Capture", that's a term in dating sims where you get together with the target you're pursuing, which is why I assumed this was an isekai villainess anthology. That said, going by the anthology's description and the names of the other chapters here, it's hard to say - I could be wrong and it might just be a villainess anthtology.

From what I understand, the whole "villainess" thing comes from old dating sims aimed at girls. There was often a villainess character that acts as the female main character's rival/bully. These games often followed a set of tropes, such as it usually takes place in a medieval European setting, there's royalty (often princes as love interests), lots of romantic and political drama, broken engagements, stuff like that. A common cliché is the one shown here, where the villainess is the fiancée of the prince, the prince doesn't like her and instead goes after the main character, the villainess gets jealous of her and bullies/tries to kill her, things like that. And in the end the villainess ends up getting executed or exiled for her crimes.

As you can probably imagine, a lot of people like messing with that concept. That's why there's a lot of isekai stories (often webnovels) involve a person from the real world somehow ending up in the dating sim world, where they proceed to change the original plot. Oftentimes if it's a yuri author the main character ends up replacing main protagonist (as in I Favor the Villainess) or the villainess (as in HameFura), and end up creating a "yuri end" that wasn't in the original game by getting together with a girl. A lot of the time these end up being pretty self-indulgent and cliche, which is why I called them my guilty pleasure lol

Villainess x heroine stories are like my guilty pleasure lol. They're often cliched and melodramatic but something about them just makes me melt - especially when they're super fluffy like this one.

Its great but- what was the point in the sudden Isekai pop up? It had zero baring and played no part in the story?
It all worked perfectly fine without mentioning it. In fact it just needlessly comlicates a simple, good, story idea.

I'm pretty sure that's just the theme of the anthology. Maybe the author had already planned out the story before going "oh shit, this is an isekai anthology!" and added that part it. I actually agree with you, this would've worked just fine without it.

God, TW-8 gave me so much trouble that I had no idea how I'd beat it with just 6 operators. Thankfully KyoStinV's video on how to beat it worked fine for me; I don't even have Eyjafjalla, Silverash or Blaze but using Specter on Silverash/Blaze's spot worked fine.

The story was about as dark as I was expecting. I did notice the set-up for Mudrock joining Rhodes Island later, though it's not super explicit. I wonder if they were always planning on her getting added as a playable character? Another thing I noticed was that this seems to take place after the main plot takes place, given how they seem to refer to Reunion in the past tense (ie after it already collapsed), though I might've misunderstood that part.

Also Folinic's cool, both gameplay-wise and as a character - I'm choosing to believe that she had a thing with Atro, and that's why she's so pissed the entire event. I'll probably E2 her at some point.

Another thing to note is how Klee's mom is fucking bonkers. She's a classic mad scientist type of person, but there's indications that she might have been isekai'ed to Teyvat just like the Traveler. The evidence for this is how she taught Barbara what an idol was, and how her Teyvat Travel Guides read closer to how someone who didn't come from this world views it. Her name is also Alice, which may be an allusion to Alice in Wonderland. Would also explain why she's such a sociopath since she doesn't view this world as her world.

I was going to mention Alice - she's absolutely insane, and definitely explains why Klee is the way she is. I didn't know about that stuff with her teaching Barbara though - her being from another world would be pretty interesting, especially considering how the current Archon quests are considered part of the "Teyvat Storyline" - that indicates to me that -assuming Genshin Impact lasts long enough - the story's eventually going to move on beyond just Teyvat.

I'm guessing it's going to be a while before Alice shows up, if she appears at all. She'll probably just keep on writing in each region's travel guide, with the occasional NPC and character quest mentioning her.

But while I appreciate the latest chapter's credits page, the one edit I thought of doing when I saw that page was to mix it with some Girl Friends instead:

Okay wow, those Artifact Domains are a lot harder than I was expecting. Thankfully you don't waste any resin for failed attempts, but I did end up wasting some food. Oh well, I'll probably end up trying doing co-op to do those.

I was looking around, and it seems that it'll be for the Chinese server since there wasn't any mention of it on the other servers. Everything there will probably be the same for the other servers though and there'll probably be a translation soon enough.

Finally made it to AR 40. Right now I have Fischl at level 80, Traveler at level 70, and Noelle, Kaeya, Barbara and Sucrose at level 50 as supports. I'll probably level Traveler to level 80 as a second DPS for the 2nd Abyss team, but I'm not sure who else to build at the moment. I'm finally going to start doing the Artifact Domains now that I can go for the second-highest difficulty. However, I'm probably not going to use my Fragile Resins until I'm AR 45 for the highest difficulty ones.
