Perhaps this is ever further in the timeline and Maki didn't change much. That'd allow Riko to... develop a bit more.

Frankly, that's basically how all my OTP's (or in some cases OT3's) have ended up happening. ChikaRiko became a huge favorite of mine after I saw Kougi Hiroshi's art, for example.

Fujishiro does seem like an idiot. Not in a particularly bad way though, just... simple. She's pretty shallow right now, and she has very little inhibition, but seeing as romance manga seem to be all about lack of communication, that could actually be a good thing. Or at least a refreshing change of pace. This assumes the whole thing will be more than them becoming "very good friends but definitely not 100% canonically lesbians got it?" at some point.

I anticipate her attempt to make Kurokawa pretty will come back as a lesson and some growth for Fujishiro down the road. "Beautiful on the inside" and such. That said, I'll be disappointed to see those eyebrows go.

Do you write the music or the lyrics first? Didn't she just write a love poem instead. Riko can make a studio edit with just a piano but still i don't know.

That's an interesting question that I'd love to know the answer to as well. If I had to guess, it probably varies between people, but lyrics first makes the most sense to me. It seems like it would be easier to write the music with the lyrics in mind than vice versa.

This series continues to make me both happy and sad at the same time. I'm usually not a huge fan of drama in romance manga, but that's because it's usually handled very, very poorly. Thankfully this has very believable characters, so it's a treat to see it play out. Honestly it's done well enough that it could even be an autobiography, though for the author's sake I hope it's not. :P

Some people seem to not realize that there has been a light novel tag dating back several years. This isn't a groundbreaking development ya'll. Sure it hadn't been used for a while, but it's not like there isn't a precedent for this.

Don't have time to read all of this right now but I'll be giving it a read soon. Thank you to the translators and I hope you keep doing this kind of stuff.

Cute. Always nice to see a rare pair get some love. I'm pretty sure the artist mixed up their hair a few times though, or at least the scrunchy/bow. Like here for example https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/snow_white_memories#22 panel 1, scrunchy on Honoka, bow(?) on Maki, next panel the bow is on Honoka, panel 3 scrunchy on Maki. At least, I think that's who each of them are. They're nearly identical at a distance and I ended up unsure who was who multiple times. That's only a minor complaint though, especially since I like that hairstyle.

Reading what people have been saying here, in a way I'm reminded of Don't Become an Otaku, Shinozaki! as a manga where the protagonist is a girl who makes friends with a plain girl with the intent of making her "prettier" and ends up changing herself instead. It's kind of different I guess, but the general idea of Fashionable-chan falling for Plain-chan after her ulterior motives are forgotten is similar.

^ I couldn't even figure out what it was talking about at first when it mentioned her eyebrows. They're just like... normal eyebrows. I think the standard "anime girl eyebrows" would look weirder in real life, they're so thin they hardly exist.

Well, there's mech pilot x hacker (d.va. x sombra, obiously), that one has a connection. I'm fond of D.va x Lucio as well, just because the ship name I've seen is "Bunnyribbit" and that's a hilarious name.
Actually, a lot of OW ship names are fantastic. There's Spiderbyte (widow x sombra) which is a great pun, and there's the classic Pharmercy which I've always thought was clever, and plenty more.

Besides, people have never let the likelihood of a ship get in the way of their favorite pairing before! :P

edit: also the obvious ship for Brigitte is with Reinhardt, of course. They're perfect for each other! I mean who doesn't like some Age Gap ;P
