I don't really feel super irritated for twd doing this, It's still the trope, but I don't really expect anyone to live for very long. And it's not like the showrunner for twd was gay-bating the show like the 100 was/is.

Well, just watched The Walking Dead latest episode, Denise died, she's one of the lesbian characters, her girlfriend Tara will probably die too, only two episodes left and the actress is pregnant.

I liked Callisto a lot, so no stones from me! She was more fun.

If there's chemistry between the new X and G, then I think it can work very well, as long as the writing is just as good as the early seasons of Xena were. The original has a nostalgia filter on it, same with the Hercules show.

After fan reaction to what they did in 100 I don't think that they will kill Shaw for good, maybe we'll see her only in the end of the season or in the next season, leaving us wondering what happened, I actually suspect that if they were going to kill her they might have changed their minds thanks to 100, it would make fans really happy and make sure to keep them continue watching it too

I really hope the writers and staff for POI are paying attention to the fan's reactions to the 100.

The problem is that it has happened waaay too often, writers killing off lesbian characters, and no matter how fitting it would be or how epic they go out, people will riot, cause the happy end for lesbians as main characters or as close to them is practically non-existent.

What I would like ideally is blanket immunity for a while. Let us have happy endings without fear of them getting killed off... I don't have an ideal timeframe for how long the immunity lasts - a decade's worth of shows maybe? I just want it.

I just want lesbian romances to get the same respect as straight ones.

While it pisses me off I really hope they don't give gay characters blanket immunity to getting killed off. I don't want to be patronized like that. If they have to die, make their death fitting to the character.

Is this damage control happening on the100writers account, or another one?

What I meant was that gay men in tv shows are never killed off like lesbians are. It just feels like "gay dudes can do what they want because they are men, but we got to keep women in their place" or something like that.

Behind it all, I think that is the biggest irritation I have with the continued use of this trope. It promotes the thought that it's ok to be a lesbian as long as they don't have a happy ending. Or, the only good lesbian is a dead one. I don't think it's intentional all the time, but it's still there. It only seems to be gay women that get this treatment on tv shows too.

Sending death threats over twitter is a bit much really... It is a teenage bullshit drama though, the main characters aren't any older than 21 I think. Lexa had to die, I get that, the actress was leaving the show. That's not really want I'm pissed about.

I'm personally waiting for the season to end before I get out the tar and feathers lol.

Edit: Even then, I don't think Lexa had to die, the writers were just being lazy. They could have just as easily worked out Alycia's leaving the way Shahi did on POI. Now, even if she would want to come back to the show in the future,, she can't because they killed off her character.

If the show tanks in the ratings, I hope the showrunner gets fired. It's their fault if it happens. Getting killed by friendly fire is just the worst type of cop out. I'd be ashamed and embarrassed to even putting that idea out there to the writers of a show.

She should have died in a blaze of glory, like saving Clarke from death by sacrificing herself. That would have been acceptable.
