english is a western language. of course they're going to translate a japanese slang term into an english slang equivalent. that's the point of translation. you're just mad that they use slang you think is trashy. Man there is way too much hate on this. This was a great & lovely story with charming characters & setting. I loved this story even if it wasn't yuri &, like others have pointed out, it was tagged as such! You shouldn't let your personal preferences blind you to a wonderful story whether it be this one or any others.

touhou is somewhat loose with canon and how the characters act and look. touhou fanworks are even more varied. you'll catch up on stuff by just reading various comics. just know that some interpretations of character personalities won't be fully supported by games or officially affiliated comics.

basically, it takes place in the land where things go after they've been forgotten which is why there's monsters and myths everywhere and they all get up to trouble and mischief of varying degrees of severity
