Overt subtext where the author all but writes it in big red letters should be allowed. And no trans gender allowed was a bad move. >_>
candyboy
love/death
citrus
anything by the yuri goddesses such as Takemiya, Shuninta, Morishima, etc.
girlfriends
magan and danai
KashimashiThose arent in order
Is Kashimashi better as a manga? I watched the english dubbed anime and absolutely hated it. I wonder if it was just a bad conversion and the original source material is great.

What, no Lemonade?
I haven't finished that one yet. I keep putting it off, but if it's worthy of a top 10 spot, I might go ahead and marathon it.

ATM, and in no particular order: Aqua Blue Cinema, Lonely Wolf, Lonely Sheep, Her World, Honey & Mustard, Kimi Koi Limit, The Flower and the Star, Kissing Mars, Gunjo, Legally Married Yuri Couple Book, Sasameki Koto. In general, I actually prefer one-shots, tho.
I prefer one-shots and two-shots too actually. I just thought it'd be too overwhelming for me to pick 10 out of the literal hundreds I've read.
I'd like to thank you all for calling me out on what I did. You guys were way too nice and I'm really appreciative that things stayed relatively calm and civil. It may seem like I'm forcing myself a bit, but I feel the best way to amend the situation is to use self-humility rather than making up bullshit excuses and backhanded apologies. It may be excessive, but feeling bad about it and lashing out at anybody but myself is childish. I'd say I'm sorry again, but you can only say it so many times before it loses its meaning. Also, I deleted some of my response posts because they kind of cluttered the page and didn't add much. Peace!

No Futa, No Transgender
Wait, what? I won't defend futa as I'm not a fan either (but there is a lot people here who will surly call you on that one), but why transgender is excluded? If someone is transgender and identify as a woman then they are a woman. If such person is in love with another woman it is "actually yuri". Not sure if you are being ignorant or intolerant, but by your standards this doesn't count...
I can not begin to tell you how sorry I am. There's no excuses for what I did. I'll tell you this much. I have read Ayumi and Aika and it was easily my favorite from Mermaid Line. You may not believe me, and you have full right not to. I'm not going to tell you a million reasons why I'm not ignorant or intolerant, because I tend to be that way when I know I shouldn't. I hold no ill-will for anybody LGBT or Q for what they are alone and never will. You don't have to forgive me and I expect you not to right away. I again apologize for my heinous remark and I'll make sure not to do something like it again.
Just as kind of a fun little activity, I'd like to know about anyone's top 10 Yuri series. The rules are as follows:
- A series, by my definition, is anything above 2 chapters. Preferably I'd like to see longer entries, but all are welcome.
- Anthologies do not count as series unless they are interconnected within the same universe and plot setting. I intend to do a list on that separately for another time.
- Follow the rules of the forum when you make the list. Don't be a dick and make fun of someone else's pick, try to keep in mind that any spot on a list you have different on yours doesn't mean that it is ABSOLUTELY 100% set in stone and therefore makes you wrong, and don't place yourself on a pedestal while making the list. Also don't do what I did and exclude an entire community of people who constantly get shit on by the internet to begin with. Call me a name or two for that. I deserve it.
- Make sure it's actually Yuri. No subtext. No Futa, No Gender Bender, (if the character turns into a female and stays that way [like Kashimashi], that's okay. No magic ring or temporary shapeshifting madness or anything. Shit just gets confusing otherwise.), and definitely no Yaoi. It should be the main focus. So obviously nothing like Toradora or Dengeki Daisy ;P. (EDIT: I'm super sorry for my hasty decision to exclude the Transgender category. Rather than copping out and just telling everybody to look at my last rule, it's off the record books. I fully encourage you to make a list with all transgender couples just to spite my past transgressions ;). LOVE AND PEACE <3!)
- The series should be finished. If it's done being scanlated, then try and link it if it's on the site. Some of the links I will use aren't complete, but that's because they are complete on other sites. If you know Japanese and have read one that hasn't been done being scanlated, feel free to put it on the list. Also, please don't link scanlations of works that have been licensed. That's not cool.
- One author per series. I forgot to mention this one earlier, but if that wasn't a rule, Morinaga Milk would take up like all the spots for my list. If you feel like conjoining all the author's works and put something like "Anything by Takemiya Jin", that'd be okay.
- Your list doesn't have to be in any particular order. If you can't think of 10, make it 5, 6, 3, or whatever. As long as you like them.
- If you don't feel like following any of the rules except for 3 and want to do your own thing, go right ahead! Just keep rule 3 in mind when you do it and remember that this is all for fun. I'm not the boss here after all.
MY TOP 10:
- Octave
- Girl Friends
- Poor Poor Lips
- Yoshikawa Ginza District 4
- Cirque Arachne
- Dandelion Among Lilies/Yuri Ni Tanpopo
- Kimi Koi Limit
- Love Vibes
- Philosophia
- Wife and Wife/Fu-Fu

I'm new to this site, so I don't know how you guys used to run this place, but I love the current mods, uploaders, and staff. Very respectful and compliant. Not condescending in the slightest. Plus, at least for me, I don't see any personal favor handout jobs or other such bullshit. You go on all sorts of sites, regardless of whether or not they relate to anime or manga, and they're run by a shit ton of the creators' buddies who should never be in any position of authority to begin with. Not this site! Plus you guys micromanage and actually try and keep the site organized. I've said this before, but holy shit some of the anime and manga hosting sites are like the wild west on steroids. I go onto a site like Ryuanime and they have entire seasons of shows missing (like the first season of Space Dandy isn't there but the 2nd is), subs still overlapped on top of a dub (which are alt translations at that), barely any categories, no quality control, and an atrocious ui. This site could be a lot worse and is very well made. Peeps just need to stop complaining and appreciate what they have.

I don't think this series is called Sweet & Bitter. Every chapter I saw said it was The Upperclassman. Is there other parts of the story, or is it just this one?

Every time the characters become super violent I always imagine their voices turning into like Kung Fu movie english dubs and then as the action becomes more intense like DBZ with the "HAAAAAAAAH" and everything. I'm not upset that this ended super quickly, because I think if it was longer the whole formula would have gotten stale and worn out for me. I love pyscho bitches in mangas, and super violent ones are even better. Give me shit like Purgatorial Queen and I'm all sorts of entertained. Great manga.
Thank you for the response OrangePekoe. A lot of my questions and concerns were addressed and I really appreciate the feedback. I think I understand how the tag system works a lot better now and will keep all you have said in mind for the future. I'll keep you and others updated on the tag thread if I see any specific examples of problems I have with the system that wouldn't be appropriate for this one. Welcome back from your break and I hope things go well in the future.
Sorry to bother the moderators with a similar problem, but it seems the tag suggestion process went from not accepting or rejecting at all to picking and choosing which ones to do that with. I have 2 tag suggestions from 12 days ago that weren't addressed, yet I recently made one today that was accepted within minutes. Maybe this isn't really a problem, but I just find it odd the way tags are handled in general. For example, I don't know if this is an unspoken tag rule, but whenever I seem to tag something with Masturbation
that has the Lots of Sex
tag, it is always denied. But some mangas I see have both, which totally goes against my whole theory. Also, how come Ecchi
and NSFW
can be tagged in the same manga? Ecchi means almost NSFW. It's one or the other. I don't mean to undermine anybody, because I realize managing a whole site is a chore and then some. I just feel like if there were more distinct rules on what each tag means (some of them can be interpreted in more than one way and really aren't specified enough or even quantifiable like FREEDOM
, M Night Shyamalan
, Moderate Amounts of Sex
, Wishful thinking
, Telling Twins Apart
, ETC.), what tag can't go with another (more than what's already established), and maybe a reason to go with why a tag took longer than usual or why it was denied this whole thing would become a lot less confusing. If I had more free time and didn't have school I'd totally do that myself. I love this site and want it to be the best it can be. ALSO: I just thought of a new tag. If there's a Big Breasts
tag, shouldn't there also be a Flat-Chested
tag? Of course this would only apply if the story wasn't Lolicon
. Some people like seeing non-loli flat-chested women. I think it would be beneficial.

This was a rollercoaster of all sorts of boner. My dick felt like it was Dante from the Divine Comedy the whole way through. I think it's rather interesting, and I kept on thinking of the term "psychological". To me, this is like a Psychological Yuri Hentai. It was playing head games with my arousal and enjoyment. I don't think I've ever felt so empty looking at girls having sex like I did in the third chapters. The ending was okay. I liked it, but I feel Mira could have done much better in that department. The last act was a bit haphazard and the transition of corruption felt somewhat rushed midway through the story overall and beyond. I think this story could have benefited with some priority adjustment and rearranging of plot elements and significance. But it certainly was a new experience for me. Mira's art is always very well done. No complaints in that department. That's pretty much all I have to say.
So... what do you think the likelihood is that this series will ever be officially licenced and sold in the United States? Probably pretty slim huh?
But, I mean, the French got it, so why not the US, right? And I saw Citrus at a local bookstore, so anything's possible...
Here's hoping one day...
Speaking of that... I got bored one day and looked up the number one selling romance manga right now on Amazon. It's the preorder for Citrus volume 3. It dominated not only the yuri sales, but ROMANCE in general. Maybe we will get lucky and see this series in the States. I'd buy it if it were super cheap.
I don't know if anyone's done this or even does this on this website... but I call dibs on Ruki. She's mine. I don't indulge much on the prospect of waifus, but I called her. Someone else wants her? YOU CAN'T HAVE HER. Jokes aside, I did like the planning in the series and the fact that the characters are the seven deadly sins of Yuri. Not the best in plot structure or execution, but what can you do?

In Parenthood (the TV show, not the movie), the second to last season (season 5) Haddie, Max's sister, comes home from college and brings with her a "friend", and Max discovers her making out with her in her room and Max blurts out later while shopping for suits with his mom "What does it mean when two girls kiss?" He has Asperger's Syndrome, so he really doesn't get social cues or when it's right to bring those kind of things up. She asks him why he's mentioning that, and he explains off screen what he saw. The mom then talks to her about it. After Haddie comes out and tells the truth, the mom tells her she didn't have to hide that she was homosexual and that it was no big deal for her. The dad, kind of oblivious to the hints, has to be told very blatantly by Haddie that she is gay after the whole ordeal. He also doesn't think much of it either, and even mentioned before he liked the "friend" she brought over (obviously not knowing she was her girlfriend). She doesn't appear much after that story arc for the remaining 6th and final season of the show, but we do get to hear how she met her girlfriend and how she did love the boys she dated in highschool but doesn't feel that way about guys now. Sorry for the in depth analysis. I really do like that show however and felt you guys would like to know some context.
I'm getting some good vibes from this series. Apparently Gakuen Polizi wasn't as good as her normal works, so I was a bit worried that this series wouldn't catch my interest. It totally did though. Hopefully it sparks enough popularity among fans so it can see a publication from Seven Seas once it ends. With how popular Morinaga Milk is, I can't imagine her series will be in danger of getting cancelled. Either way, if scanlating goes well, maybe we'll get another awesome experience like Girl Friends. Waiting for scanlations to come out is a new experience for me seeing how relatively new I am to yuri and I'm rather looking forward to checking in week to week.

Out of all the things to talk about while getting sexy with a woman, why the fuck ants? I have a phobia of bugs, so it pretty much killed any enjoyment I'd get from reading what little moments it had of kinkiness. At least they didn't do the whole "We're melting together" or "An indirect kiss!" or "My mind's going blank" shtick. I don't mind those lines at all, but I swear to god there should be a Yuri bingo filled with all the repeated lines mangakas use for these sort of things. But ants? Fucking ants? That's what's getting you in the mood? No thanks...
That's pretty much how I felt inside when reading this. If you're into this kind of stuff like me, then you know how great this makes you feel being a person who enjoys female on female goodness. Yuri hentai at its finest if I do say so myself. Cowboy Bebop Boner/10
I am obsessed with this series. I've read it 3 times and I already saved up enough to buy the first complete series book. I'm going to buy the second, I'm just lacking the funds right now. I can't wait until Morinaga Milk's newest series gets done being scanlated/translated overseas so I can read it a bajillion times as well. I'd even kickstart this to get an anime. I'd plop down all of my birthday money and half of Christmas just to potentially get it to see the light of day. I didn't even read Yuris 2 months ago. God was I an idiot. So glad this was my first one I ever completed. SUPPORT THE SERIES LIKE ME AND BUY THE MANGAS. Thank the Yuri goddesses for Seven Seas.
If this was an anime series, I'd watch it every week and be buying the fuck out of the dvds and merch. This blew my goddamn mind. I really like batshit crazy women, and I also like ones who can wreck shit and not give a single fuck. I also like Gothic settings like Hellsing and loved how ridiculous and non-seriously the story took itself. This is the only thing that's been translated by this author? I looked him/her on mangaupdates and nothing came up. Who the fuck is this person and where can I be promoting the shit out of them to make more things? Easily my favorite oneshot of all time. But that's not saying a lot considering this is the only one I've read that isn't 100% yuri (LOL). I am a man of simple tastes after all.
I was really impressed by the series. While I normally don't think much of the stories of Amano Shuninta's works, I was flabbergasted by the depth this story offered. I always really like her artwork and the creative way she tackles certain things other stories typically do the same rigmaroll with. I got emotional with the ending. I'm not spoiling anything, but it's sad. I was really sleep deprived when I read it, but I usually am when reading all Yuri so I didn't think much of that fact. Plus, you usually don't see many mangas tackle dark subjects as unangstily as this does. It knows it's covering some heavy shit, but it doesn't dwell on it and get all drama town overexplaining why you should be thinking about it. I don't know how Amano could top it. Probably by doing something totally the opposite. Like maybe a really funny 4-koma or something that would challenge another side of her talents. Who knows. I haven't read her unfinished series (I'm kind of weird and don't do that in general), but maybe she's going in the right direction. I hope I don't sound like an idiot once I double check mangaupdates. ALSO: keep in mind it takes a lot for me to dislike an ending. I'm not the kind of person who gets pissed off if an ending doesn't satisfy every last thing the series set up or the pacing (not saying any of you in particular are, just generalizing here). I thought the ending was sudden because life is sudden. Tomo makes it clear that Ai doesn't know her like she thinks she knows her. She purposely doesn't let Ai get too deep into her life because she knows who she really is. This was set up in a way that it would be okay for things not to go as planned. Pacing wise it was awkward because Tomo is an awkward person. We as the readers are supposed to feel uneasy. Now I understand this type of pacing doesn't click for some people. It's rather annoying to look at something as meticulously as I look at things, so you're better off not convincing yourself to like something when you don't want to. I write a lot, so I look at mangas more like literature than visual media. I think books should portray all shitty aspects and fucking awesome aspects of life. People should act like people, not idealistically for one specific demographic, race, creed, gender, or whatever. Waffling aside, I'm just a non-conformist over-analyzer who takes pride in looking at things in ways the author probably didn't give a second thought about.

I got into the whole manga thing about 2 months ago and Yuri is one of my favorite genre. While not necessarily the entire span of this website, it is true that this is a pro-Yuri site that does display several works of the such. While I did make a joke video kind of poking fun at some of the tags in the directory that seem a bit odd to someone looking with no context (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f25nrRw-uS4), I do enjoy a lot of content from this site. I'm not kidding, I've read 131 yuri oneshot/twoshots and 58 series (3 chapters or more). Not all here. Some I had to resort to using mangareaders... but I used AdBlock! Maybe that's not really that taboo though and I'm just counting chickens before they hatch or something. Also, there's this weird sense of respect and tolerance that is ever so lacking all over the internet. The community here is productive and encouraging. Maybe it's because we all probably read or have read mangas on the site that most manga readers avoid like the plague due to insecurities. The actual reader software is kickass by the way. I'm so used to clicked on a certain side of one screen to move forward I inherently do it when reading a manga/comic anywhere else. Updates are frequent. Everything's organized pretty well. I can't begin to tell you how it's pisses me off so bad going on other sites and seeing the cluster fuck of an interface and catalog that goes with them. Ryuanime.com anyone? Anyway, I'm glad I have an account on this site and get to read awesome manga on it. Thanks for being around. Just to be clear though, I'm not flooding any category or specific sect of talk am I? Other sites seem to be pretty picky when you post. But I think I'm fine. Whatevs.
I don't know who's in charge of handling the suggested tag changes or how one is notified, but I have made tag suggestions as early as June 24th and no one has gotten on them. Also, if there was a way to remove a suggestion after you make it, that would be great too. I accidentally clicked on something before thinking and now I can't find a way to get rid of it so a mod doesn't have to immediately toss it aside. I've been on the site not too terribly long, so I don't know if this is a temporary problem or something that can be permanently adjusted. Either way, I'd really appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
