I personally found the last scene to be either a surreptitious or an unintended confession by Sanae, and her liking guys as just an impulse reply, at least considering the evolution of their relationship.

Sanae starts off only embarrassed by, and distrustful of, Kurahashi's attention, ironically saying hurtful things to her. Her parents' arguments keep reminding her of Kurahashi, what she must feel like not having that in her life. Finally, when the hurting gets turned on her, we find out she was lying about having thrown away Kurahashi's key.

Kurahashi's overt use of alcohol helps loosen Sanae's inhibitions and we learn, alongside her, that her curiosity was tinged with physical attraction; she admits to herself that she wants to see her body, and is the one to initiate contact.

Upon returning home the next day, Kurahashi's still fills her mind; even when her dad promises to give her pointers to make any man hers, the first thing that comes to her mind is Kurahashi.

Back at school, we see they are much closer, with Sanae accepting Kurahashi's request only placing limits for a practical reason. When their conversation turns into a heart-to-heart. Sanae reassures her that they will both find a special person, not man. Sanae's closing monologue also hints at it, how they will come to accept themselves.

All in all, I found this a wonderful coming of age story; we get to watch Sanae mature and become aware of others', or at least Kurahashi's, situation to the point of saying what's needed to show support or clear a bad mood.

Looking for the manga about college students that's paced and written like a SHAFT anime.

Though I've got to admit I don't care much for that kind of development, I can think of a couple not exactly like it but I believe are close enough:
1. Kodomo no Jikan It's rather clear from the beginning that there never really was a competition. Nonetheless it's a lovely story.
2. Slow Starter by Harumi Chihiro, probably Honestly I didn't read this one, seemed too much drama for me, I just skipped to the ending and left it at that; it seems to fit what you're asking for, at least out of context.
3. Scum's wish, at least the Sanae bit, kinda This one is more a bunch of unrequited loves coming to a close.

That's how I felt it too, like "I need a maid" but without going into details... But that's probably my heartbroken self talking, I don't approve this development at all, I wanted Kuroe to realize that love is not such an ephemeral thing, because defining love in general based on your dad's behavior? that's stupid... So I thought they were going to fix that twisted preconception somehow but all we got was "I need my fork" agggh I'm pissed, really disappointing honestly

Keep in mind that that's the only form of love she knows, apparently not even knowing the love of a "mother"; that's a mindset she has to consciously grow out of. The way I see it, it is her first step in that direction, she is now trying to take Miyabi's feelings into consideration and reach a compromise however selfish it may seem on the onset.

Then again I prefer slow burners so I'm hoping for a gradual realisation on her part that Miyabi's important to her for a bigger reason than just convenience.

Now it's up to the senate to either pass it or modify it, and then it will be up to each state's congress to modify its local Constitution to align to it.

Sadly, there's this tactic called "sending it to the freezer" wherein the congress, federal or local, gives little importance to a proposal so that it takes much longer than necessary for the new laws to actually take effect.

I believe this porposal, or a similar one, will happen considering the Supreme Court ruling, so it's just a matter of how long it will take

To me the whole series revolved around Keiko healing from her traumatic experience, and Ran coming into her own at her first foray into independent life.

Sure we got teased a ton, so one would be right to feel cheated, but that indignation shouldn't blind us from the rather heartwarming story of two people leaning on each other in times of need and carving themselves a special place in the other's heart.
