Kana knew what's up with a single glance.
I'm now convinced she can't possibly be oblivious about Momose.

That is certainly a possibility, especially seeing how forceful she was in dragging her away. Although it may also be just jealousy, or instead of Momose, she may have remembered what Chiaki is like instead. Would certainly like to see Kana's side of things as well, we're already aware of what the other three think, after all.

Yukata boobs!

The tension was palpable and absolutely hilarious. :D

And then, Kana-chan to the rescue!

"I haven't been looking at anything besides your boobs, Harumi-san."

Well, that's a big part of the problem, really. Although the jealousy this time may have made Chiaki realize that she needs to learn more about Hana herself, so meeting like this may have been a good thing in the end.

Americans are big at keeping the government out of our personal lives even if It's for our own good. (Just ask the anti-vaxxers). So putting the government in charge would not work at least not here.

Good thing this takes place in Japan, then.

"Something I did"... something like, kissing another girl maybe?

Very much assuming something like this, yes. If not outright kissing, then at the very least showing interest in a girl in some way.

^Well, things escalate much faster in the one-shot and the series and one-shot do have slight differences, so it's understandable if they're not being seen as quite the same. At the very least, it's still an indication of the eventual direction of the series, though.

And rereading on, we really should have just listened to Hinako instead of wondering this long.

Yeah, while Sakurako tends to be more vocal and over the top with her affection, Kasumi is often the one taking initiative instead. I did point a few instances out earlier, and continuing my rereading, I've also noted how it's Kasumi who suggests quite early on that they could live together after graduating high school. And then there's the chocolate banana incident. And suggesting going to the same college, surprising even Sakurako who was sure she would be against it, which even we readers would likely have expected this directly after her usual vocal outburst. And, of course, the legendary meeting with Sakurako's mom.

I honestly feel like I should note down whenever one or other of the two is initiating physical contact the next time I go through the series. It very much feels like it's actually more Kasumi than Sakurako, especially early on, but I'd need to actually check the numbers to be sure. :D

The health cost alone would be prohibitive.

You must be American.

^Not really a joke in this case, but rather an indication of Kazuki's previous relationships where her girlfriends were treating her like a guy. Mizuki initially expected Hime to be like that as well, while Hime's reaction showed her that she did indeed see Kazuki as a girl like herself, leading to Mizuki's later approving comment to Kazuki.

PS: I originally wanted to comment on the kimonos, but that sutff blew me away. Kasumi is wearing cherryblossom and pink (Sakurako) and Sakurako is wearing light blue (mist/Kasumi). To put it like a terrible fanfiction author: "They were stained in each other's colors."

Terrible fanfiction writers might also want to mention how Kasumi seems to love anything sakura-flavored. Her brain, her heart, and her stomach must be overlapping.

Yeah, that stuff was all very "hmmmm". ;p

Yeah, it has that Sakurako taste to it.

No tops or bottoms here, but a relationship of equals. ^_^

[...]and then I realize these two have been married since they met.

Pretty much. The slow and gradual growth of their relationship means that it's pointless to look for a specific moment where it crossed the line from friends to lovers. The only one moment you can find that made a difference in their relationship really was the moment they met.

Well, this just came and destroyed any doubt in their relationship. It's so great to see them accept that it isn't really that necessary to put it into words, telling everyone who doubted their relationship that they both have been aware of each other's feelings and accepted them for a long, long time.

That kiss looked very much like a more or less normal thing for them by now as well.

Reejun posted:

I can't remember how Wife and Wife altered its "fufu"

It used ふ~ふ, hiragana and a ~ for its long vowel instead of う or a ー (normal straight long vowel mark).

but this is the base phrase with kanji: "未来の夫婦ですけど?" I believe.

It uses ふうふ, so hiragana, not kanji.

Since I was only going by how Wife and Wife title was translated and the romanji used here, I didn't even know fuufu is a actual word. I just thought it was a shortened version of repeated word "waifu" x3

Either way I wouldn't overanalyze it. It is obvious that word for "married couple" would use the kanji for husband and wife and they don't have word for gay married couple yet, so author just went with what they had. I doubt it is supposed to suggest that one of the characters will actually marry a guy in the future.

Ah, took me way too long to get around to this... While Wife and Wife was where I did first learn this word, I have to say the best take on it, especially relating to gay couples, comes from Hanayome wa Motodanshi.

Then "Grilfriends" may have a possibility

It's "Girl Friends"! Not "Girlfriends"! Goddamnit!

No.

Wouldn't mind that one either.

...Unless it goes the comical route where her attempts to bully Tadokoro always backfire on her immediately with Tadokoro being completely unaware that anything is even happening.

She seemed to be aware this time, though, and there's also the past bullying to consider. So rather than this, the best case scenario in case of continued bullying would probably be getting caught by Nikaidou the first time she tries it again.

Still, even better if she keeps distance, yes. Or reconsiders her opinion of Tadokoro in light of how she's treated by Nikaidou and trying to become friends with the both as well.
