Yeah, this is conflating "being sexually attracted to a person who, despite massive visual evidence to the contrary, turns out to be underage" with "being sexually attracted to people who are, or who appear to be, very young."

Pretty sure Serenata was just taking it to its "logical" conclusion to expose how asinine it is.

But what follows is that everyone who has ever been attracted to any girl/woman they hadn't known for at least 18 years at that point is a lolicon because they certainly didn't truly know their age. The other person might have lied about it! Their IDs could be fake! Always assume that they're a kid! Consequently you shouldn't be attracted to any person you didn't grow up with because you can't know if they're not actually just a kid!
The same is true in reverse for people who have ever been attracted to a boy/man without knowing them for at least 18 years, they're obviously open to being a shotacon!

It all makes (no) sense now!

aaay i just finished replaying this for the first time since 2015 XD

I think it just wouldn't be the same again. I did my "normal" playthrough, followed by a pacifist semi-completionist playthrough and didn't want to touch my save after that.

Undertale managed to make me feel in a way about a video game that I thought had become impossible. It was like when I played Final Fantasy 7/8 around the turn of the Millenium, and it took me on a journey just as much, even though I was, like, twice as old now.

And I especially loved the date fight with those two.

The poster’s total inability to articulate why the story made them so unhappy hinders any fuller or more specific response to their inchoate unhappiness.

(And anime as a medium of storytelling is not exactly the same as manga.)

I don't see why any response beyond "well, sucks for you" is required at all. I know why Bloom Into You is my one favorite piece of anime/manga so far, so while I'm somewhat baffled if someone doesn't get anything out of it, I at best feel sorry for them for not being able to get the same supreme enjoyment I've had, for their life is, at least in this specific moment, way less enjoyable than mine.
Rationalization won't ever get someone to wholeheartedly enjoy something that they don't. (Conditioning and brainwashing might, but that's another story...) They might get a technical appreciation for what it is and what we see in it, but they won't enjoy it on the same level regardless.

Idk why but reading/watching this makes me miserable af,the plot is kindda melancholic and watching this alone at 3 am isn't a good idea.

Come on Blastaar, if there ever was a faithful anime adaptation to a manga, it has to be Bloom Into You. I mean they're pretty much panel for panel and line for line, with the only real divergence being the penultimate scene, to provide at least a bit more closure than the corresponding manga chapter did, since there's no season two (which should be considered a crime against humanity!).

I'm enjoying the silly fun of the manga and while I intend to stay out of moral debates in the thread, I must admit that I'm going to revel in the outrage.

Come to think of it, it's a nice way to make sure that the typesetter/editor has to actually engage with and adapt the raw TL.
Also: on Page 2 Stan wrote "I'll go running" when she actually went for a ride on her bike. I take it Japanese allowed for both options and it only became clearer through context on the last two pages?

Actually, Hino's willingness just to get naked here indicates that she's sometimes in a mode in which her thoughts about Koguma are not sexualized.

I'd say there really wasn't much thinking going on at that moment.

Hino's brain is now proper fried, because hot (Koguma in a swimsuit) and also, hot (like, hot).
I guess Stan likes having some fun with the raw TL...

Edit: Btw, isn't the wording "ask Koguma out" rather specific? To me it pretty much always carries a romantic connotation, which would be kinda new.

This... makes a lot more sense in the middle part. I had been very confused as to who was swearing at whom.

If I follow the remarks here, the first three pages are just a setup for the final reveal that the girl was a lesbian all along, and the gender of her lover is never mentioned previously. Though she did broke up with one, because her mother insulted them.

It makes a lot more sense why the boy was depressed. He never had a chance.

Except she literally asked him if he'd have her, heavily implying that she's not averse to being with a guy either. She may have been joking, but that's just one interpretation of things. I'd say the "bisexual" tag is warranted.

Quite different from Shiomi Naru's other shorts. Can't say I liked it. Didn't have any feelgood vibes, obviously, but also didn't feel creepy in the right way. A Yandere needs to be actually cute and captivating IMO, not just plain repulsive all the way. I'd call it a failed experiment, a stepping stone maybe...

For video games, I can think of Dragon Age (especially with Leliana's backstory) and Guild Wars 2 (an MMO which depicts the growth and evolution of a relationship between Marjory and Kasmeer over the course of several seasons). Not sure if you specifically wanted Japanese video games.

Mass Effect (at least 2, 3 and Andromeda if you don't count Asari as "female") also comes to mind, rather obviously.

Borderlands 3 has you deal with (Tiny) Tina's ex-girlfriend.

Those are also, obviously, assuming we're not specifically talking Japanese media.

Good catch, had to compare it with the previous chapter, but you're right. Question is, however, was it actually with intent or did she just happen to clip them for convenience or something? She did get pretty drunk and couldn't even remember the next day, after all.

I wonder what sort of secret Satou would have apart from her part-time job, or if the point is that Makino is too dense to realize that Konatsu also found out about Satou's side job.

I'd be extremely surprised if Konatsu actually knew that about Satou. It's probably more something like "she likes to sleep in the nude" at worst...
