This manga seems interesting, specially that Nikaudo girl, but I won't get my hopes up yet... Maybe is just all subtext .-.).

Oh sweet summer child.

P.s Who writes the series sumary- the uploader or dynasty staff? There's a typo- says feel in love instead of 'fell'.

End as a whole is hilarious. His speaking font, his look, his NAME... I gotta believe he's a parody of Evil Romance Story Villain.

Also, it's kinda weird that this couple, who are shown repeatedly communicating well and working through their issues, is doomed, but in a trillion stories on this site, the characters fight over easily avoided nonsense and are True Love.

I think it has to do with the whole "purity" fixation yuri has, at least to some extent. That thing that makes a protagonist not understand why her heart races when she sees that beautiful/handsome senpai everyone admires. And then they spend 100 chapters agonizing over it, building up to a confession and hand-holding after years of angst and drama drama drama.

In a way, Saeko's life during middle-school and high-school is a reflection of this, and a demonstration of why it's awful (thanks heteronormativity!).

Idolizing innocence makes the stakes lower because it's mostly "learning" about love instead of dealing with the consequences of actually being in a relationship. The issues that practically sink a relationship in the former sort of fall apart when applied to something more grounded in reality. Problem is people are accustomed to innocence because that's basically what yuri was.

So now we have a spectrum of affection in yuri that goes from "I don't understand basic human emotions" right to "smut" with very little in between.

Also yeah, it's kind hilarious just how "badguy"-ish End is. Looking forward to when he tells Saeko/Miwa that he's gay and just wanted to know if he could with them about it. (I'm not sure if that's exactly what I hope he does, but it's kinda hard to believe that he's gonna be an antagonist after seeing how hard tmfly is leaning in on that portrayal.)

Dang, that's some great art, I'd love to see more from this author some time. And who doesn't like some Meiling in their doujin? (Also I'm kind of a Sakuya x Meiling shipping trashperson. Love those two.)

The afterword mentioning the author's parents made me think of this.

Can we all have a turn on the sword? Just put it back after your wish please.

I mean . . . Hero(ine)-san had to pull it. Apparently you've gotta be down with killing demons, have the physical strength to yank the thing out of a rock, or pass some kind of sword-imposed moral judgment test, to get your wish.

Or maybe you've just gotta yoink it. Idk.

puts on thief garb

I think we can rule that one out. If a guy yoinking his hero's sword turned them into a girl there wouldn't be any men left on the planet right now.

Now we just need their moms to hookup

I wouldn't doubt it happening. Or something along those lines. I'm still wondering what Nikaidou means when she says her family situation "is a little unique".

edit:

Their usual dynamics are knight/damsel with roles set in stone, so I say it would be trope-smashing if Tadokoro turns out to be the top in sex, lol

But reversal is a trope, too ... ^^

They're both the top, simultaneously. The paradox creates a rift in space-time that swallows the world, resulting in the abrupt discontinuation of the manga. Truly we are in the darkest timeline.

Interesting to see other couples show up in a story about another pairing. That doesn't seem to happen often outside of love triangles and such. I'm all for it though, and a doujin for a rarepair is always a welcome addition.

That last panel was lewd af

Totally. And look at the previous panel! Someone's shoe goes flying off! I don't even want to think about what sort of depraved acts they could be doing!

"Oh."

Same thing went through my head. What a rollercoaster of emotions.

Hmm. This was nice. I really like Kuuko. She's a prankster and a troublemaker, but she really does care a lot about the others and I think she tries to be something like a parent for Mahoro. At least when she's not being lazy and having Mahoro be like a parent for her...

Imoko too pure for this world.

She might as well be the new protagonist

That would be boring af.

It could be made to work, but probably not as a long-term series. A spin-off maybe? Or some extras to go with the tankobon releases.

This was pretty great up until this chapter.
Nothing like non-con sleep touching to make me leery as fuck.
also it felt more like a .5 chapter, like nothing was gained except more questionable morality

I get what you mean, but I don't know if it was as big a problem in this case as it could be? I don't know why exactly, but it sort of felt like it wasn't super awful gross when it's put into context? It was morally wrong, and she knew that and felt guilty about it. And obviously feeling guilty about it doesn't make it better. But it was, for lack of a better word, "appropriate", because people are flawed and sometimes do the wrong thing, and having that happen in fiction isn't "bad" per se?

I don't know. I guess what I mean is that being grossed out by it is totally appropriate, but that it doesn't necessarily mean it shouldn't be there. Or something like that.

^^Is it even much of an age gap? Tsukuyo's in her mid 20's or something isn't she?
I've been meaning to replay this after the full voice over dlc was released but I haven't gotten around to it.

...and if they don't, well, that sure puts a novel spin on the old King Midas fable... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Does it end with King Midas starving to death because all his food moans in pleasure when he tries to eat?

^^is she? I always felt she was pretty powerful. She's got a lot of utility with her beast taming thing. I think who's the worst to have on your team generally depends on who the other characters you're using are.

Oh, I didn't mean for that to sound like I was calling someone out or anything like that. I really did mean it as a sort of PSA because not everyone knows about it. I apologize for being unclear.

edit: also I just noticed the fuzzy handcuffs. I feel like that was probably Aki's idea. She just strikes me as the open-minded sort.

Friendly reminder: "Visual novel" is not synonymous with "choose your own adventure". There are as many of them with choices as there are without. Visual novels without choices are sometimes referred to as "kinetic novels".

Many of my favorite visual novels are actually kinetic. Kindred Spirits is, for the most part, a kinetic novel. It has a handful of dialogue choices scattered throughout, but the story will be the same regardless of how you answer them.
