I was not discrediting the translator's work, in fact, I was relieved that my own reading directly from the raw matches what the translator's understanding. I worked quite a few years in the translation software business, so off all people I should know the problem of machine translation. Even in English, a "lover" can be considered a mistress depending on the context, especially if the person is male.
I simply cannot see how Yuni X Nanase can continue further. Maybe Yuki can be a catalyst again to destroy that relationship so that we will have Yuni X Fuuko (My "ship") instead. I cannot wait for the next issue (May/March) and I wonder what Sensei will come out with. She is very good at resolving and writing the love triangle.

愛人 isn't a generic lover here. It's specifically in the meaning of mistress, or, if you want "the person I love sexually as opposed to the person I'm married to/in an official relationship with".

If she meant a "lover" it would be 恋人 (the one you love)

Yes, Aijin and Koibito have huge differences. The fact that her mom chooses aijin means she knows koibito is the same person as the "kanojou". Consider what sort of job she has, Yuni's mom definitely knows something is up even with that slight pause yuni gives out. I am sure lots of her customers have pauses when asked if they were married....

In any case, my own understanding from reading the raw ends up almost the same as your interpretation, that is important because to me scanlation is like psuedo-canon,in fact a lot of times it is better than official translation. So thank you for the hard work so that I know my understanding is correct as opposed to off the mark.

Must be intuition or personal experience, using both words girlfriend and lover in a conversation with her daughter, assuming that she has both. However she does not seem to imply Yuni is two timing (does something wrong).

Did Yuni's mom ask Yuni whether she has a "girlfriend" or "lover" p187-189 after Yuni says she does not have a boyfriend?

Sweet little gem. It is not a requirement to have everything resolved. Here you can keep reading back and forth and come to your own conclusion, Heck, it is possible that both the artist friend and the coffee house owner are straight.

Koto should have said "Aya looks young but she is actually my girlfriend," Nobody really cared and just assumed it is platonic (no sex). The unfortunate side is that unlike a heterosexual couple, lesbian couple does not have the legal age loop hole. The loop hole being a grown man can have sex with his teenage fiancee, with the law implying that the two people are planning to get married, with proof (such as a marriage contract). But since same sex couple cannot get married, that loophole does not work.

Yuni was making Yuki's best friend miserable and admitted she was cheating on her. Plus she called Yuki fucking ugly and jumped her.

The original word is "ぶす" Busu. There is no perfect, one word to one word translation for it. It means "Ugly Woman". So the translator did an exception job to translate it to "fugly". The closest words to Busu are: "Hag", but usually associated with older woman; "Cow" which has multiple meanings but can be used as a ugly woman, and finally hellcat which is the perfect translation but is no longer in use often.

The translator did a great job for this chapter! Thank you for the hard work.

Even this, there is still no sign of Yuki being gay, but plenty of signs of her wanting to get rid of Yuni. The question now is her motive. As for Fuuko, she definitely will be back to try to snatch Yuni back. I have a feeling that the Nanase x Yuni relationship has already peaked and about to "run its course" towards dissolution.
The mangaka has no record of writing a square relationship plot (four persons polyamory), or a two couple plot, that we know of. So one of the four will be left out no matter what happen. I don't think it will be that easy to end as a Yuki x Nanase and Fuuko x Yuni endgame.
Oh yes, this is now my favorite ongoing Yurihime manga to follow, now that Citrus plus is being incredibly inconsistent.
