I wonder why the teacher was also involved with that bully. Kids bully each other because they're stupid, but why the teacher too?

My elementary school was so full of these kind of people, it was insane. One in my high school too, it's the damndest thing.
Not sure what has to happen in the headspace of a teacher for them to pull stuff like that but it feels more commonplace in the real world than it should be.
