I don't think Adachi and Shimamura is that edgy, so what gives?

Maybe that day she saw a random dead cicada next to that tree and assumed it was the one she almost killed.

I'm really looking forward to reading the actual, official translations of the light novels when they come out... The manga is cute and all, but I really want the whole story from beginning to end.

I‘ll stick with the fantranslation by sneikkimies, they just felt unsurpassable. I don‘t think the version by Seven Seas will be any better than that. I recommend reading the novel here on dynasty if you want, it‘s worth it.

Other than that I really enjoyed the latest chapter! Seeing Adachi going all out and hug Shimamura so tightly warms my heart, can‘t wait for the anime to animate this scene.

I'm feeling nervous because Shimamura's birthday is April 10th and it's stated that they're two weeks into the semester, which started in the beginning of April. I wonder if it'll get skipped or it'll be another event flag, because personally I definitely want to see Adachi make a big deal about it and try to do something special for her

Would be kinda disappointing to let us know Shima's bday was going to be in two months (when we found out in February) and then not address it

With the chapter ending with Adachi finally approaching her, this may likely be the reason why. After Christmas and Valentine's, this would be the next big event for her to make plans for, which may have finally made her take action again.

This makes sense now, I was wondering why Adachi behaved so oddly awkward (you know, more than usual).

This is a very cute manga, since the title promises a future marriage, i‘m excited to see the first minor or bigger time-skip (2-3 years?) and what it‘s gonna change between them.

And there goes my sleep again but as long as it‘s AdaShima i don‘t mind in the slightest! So far 2 chapters into the volume, I expect the statement „worst one of the volumes“ now to be in terms of rather little AdaShima interactions, while as well Tarumi trying to become more important to Shima than Adachi is. Adachi was barely a part of this chapter, but I found it really adorable how frequently Shima thought about her, just like when she chose that Chinese restaurant, simply to see her and being disappointed, even if only slightly, that she wasn‘t there. I‘m really curious to why Adachi is behaving like she did in this chapter... trying to avoid Shima. Will the next chapter be the same time period but in Adachi‘s POV or will it just continue where this one left off?

However just by the last chapter title of this volume „Love and Sakura“ I have high expectations regarding Adachi to finally stand up for how she feels. (The chapter coming before that one is however slightly troubling me, as I have a feeling it is gonna be about how Shima feels toward Tarumi and the other way round)

Also thank you very much for the translation @scanlator and qc. I‘m always like a kid on christmas eve whenever I see a new chapter update.

The Moke ver. is definitely the worst version of this story. Only in that it leaves out all the small things that build up the characters, yet I still read it because I can't get enough of this series.

I'm still holding out the hope that it's just rushing through the chapters that the old release covered and that it will slow down once it goes past that point..

I wanna hope that too, but the head patting scene was just super adorable, could have turned out worse haha. Still missing some more expressions of the characters that the old manga was a bit stronger at conveying than this one.

I wasn‘t expecting a new chapter when I casually refreshed the page at 3:30 am, but as it actually happened, I had to read it instantly. I was pretty confused at first, whose perspective was it we read the first half of the chapter from? A classmate by Adachi from middle school? Would be interesting to learn more about it, if it‘s something clearer later on this volume, you can tell me so, cuz then I don‘t want to be spoiled. Judging how that person thought about her, I wouldn‘t be surprised if they were crushing at her (it wasn‘t even clear if it was a girl or boy‘s pov, but judging the gayness of this LN, I‘d assume it‘s just a female classmate).
Big far-fetched assumption of mine: It‘s the girl from page#0003 that dropped something
Ignore my assumption above, I just realised Adachi is wearing the same school uniform in that one as in highschool sooooo wrong mee

And yeah, let‘s stuck with Adachi haha I know I could get used to reading Sakura instead, but Adachi just feels more unique in terms of character names which would make it easily associate it with her.

Hm? "Not again"? I can only recall this happening when she was with Nagafuji, but Shimamura doesn't know Adachi saw them or how she felt. Did I miss or am forgetting something?

She's talking about when Adachi saw her walking with Nagafuji and Hino for the first time, aka Adachi's famous bridge fence scene. It's from the first chapter of the story.

I do hope we see more of Tarumi, though. And would have even if she's turned out to be a more serious rival. Just because of how much effort it took Shima to call out to her at the end of their trip. Wouldn't want to see it go to waste.

I think the big change we saw in Shima comes from a bit of introspection after the trip to Nagoya with Tarumi, and then just the hilariousness of her "date" with Adachi following almost exactly the same pattern. Two trips to Nagoya and having to run for the train? Check. Overcrowded with only one seat in the corner? Check. Same chocolate store? Check. It was like her trip with Tarumi was simply an ironic practice run...

I can‘t wait for „Shimamura just goes all giggly and cute and drives Adachi crazy with that behaviour“ animated haha

I can‘t believe it, over 24 hours ago was the last time I refreshed the chapters list and today, 5 hours ago, I unexpectedly refreshed it again and without the page turning blank while loading, the 3 new chapters had just been added at the bottom of the list.
While I was alone in this very moment, I couldn‘t have helped but have my shoulders jump up in excitement. Just two weeks ago, if you had asked me if I enjoyed reading anything but manga, I would have said no. Now this light novel series has fully captivated me and even though I‘m a slow reader, I really enjoyed these 3 chapters and seeing that happy Adachi at the end of the third of the latest chapters, I couldn‘t help but share her emotional outburst.
Can‘t wait to keep seeing Adachi uselessly gazing at Shimamura through the whole class again. And also: YES we have finally surpassed the manga! (Even though a lot of the stuff that had been skipped in the manga was new to me as well, now I can‘t expect to read anything I have seen in the manga anymore, which adds more to the excitement to the following volume. And I can‘t wait for the new illustrations coming with the next release btw)

I can‘t wait for the first trailer to come out! So far I really love the character design. Been binging the only content of AdaShima on Youtube (that one mmv) the past days. The excitement is real. Except what a little weird about the character sheet is, is the fact that they switched the height differences of them both. Cuz Adachi is the one that should be slightly taller (even tho it feels kinda fitting like this? idk before the height difference was even addressed in the novel, I was kinda expecting Adachi to be the smaller one lmao)

I re-read the chapters again and noticed something. Do the characters here really not use honorifics?
Or is it just the translation?

Most likely the translation, it feels more "natural" like this, since it‘s translated into English. But I may be wrong.
