"I can't believe it. What are you, crazy?"- "She went that far because she loves me." Serina's refusing to doubt Kanon.
"I'm scared"- "I'm happy. She's precious." She doesn't care about her worries, only about how she feels in the moment.
"I'll just get screwed again"- "This time I'm sure it'll be okay" It's a bit of unwarranted optimism with regards to an abusive relationship.
"Even my friends told me to ditch her"- "What do the others know about us?" An abuse victim disregarding what others say and only caring about the abuser.

I didn't really read that as "happy", just the thought process of someone who is helplessly trapped in an abusive relationship, unable to truly leave under her own power, I mean she is crying at the end there. To each their own interpretation though.

I like the reversal aspect of this, but that's about it. This one falls headfirst into the usual trap for this kind of work, it just feels mean spirited, rather than deep or dark, or anything like that. Out of this recent glut of works about abuse we've had on here, I think this one is one of the worst.

Nice loli save

Woaaaa I didn't remember that happening in Prism, it's been so long since I read that. I really love it, sad it's too short.

I miss prism, especially since I haven't really been into anything that mangaka has done since.

While there's no real way to make the concept of going back to an abusive girlfriend work, it might have been a little more palatable if the story had taken the time to show that Serina did, in fact, miss Kanon (apart from the crying after running away, which could be interpreted any number of ways), such as by showing her talking with "Aoi" about Kanon and actually talking about happier times. As it stands now, Kanon's just the woman who threw the remote control at her girlfriend for no reason, and nothing in the story helps with that extremely negative first impression.

I don't think this story was supposed to be palatable. We are supposed to have a negative impression of Kanon, she's a terrible person, an abuser who won't stop until Serina escapes or one of them dies.

This might be one of the only works by this mangaka that I actually like. So many of their other works are just mean spirited and the characters are cartoonishly cruel. This one though was much more realistic and just really sad.

Not satisfying, at the end, it still never truly reckoned with the gross internalized sexism of these girls, and if anything it vindicated it.

Yeah, maybe it would have been nice if they had done that; if you mean e.g. that Kurokawa was never "ugly" just because she didn't put as much effort into her appearance as Fujishiro.

The fact that this time Fujishiro called Kurokawa beautiful without any caveats like before ("you're cuter now that I helped you and you don't look like a nerd anymore"), and called her her princess, is not quite the same as explicitly addressing the themes regarding beauty or sexism, but it at least shows that Fujishiro sees Kurokawa in a completely different light than she did at the start.

Yeah, while she did become a nicer person overall, i feel that she never truly reckoned with the messed up ideas that caused her, both of them really, to behave like that in the first place.

I somehow didn't notice this manga on here. It seems very niche, not to my tastes, but it seems decent enough for those who are into drinking culture or whatever, characters don't really look college age though.

Why is every new Yuri so edgy? That's fine if that's what you're into, but there's been such a drought of nice wholesome romances. I guess the arts pretty good though.

So far. I don't like this. Also, I don't know who decided these sort of edgy sociopathic characters make for good writing, but they are wrong. Yes, real people can be flawed but the vast majority don't act this cartoonish.

It's weird, I was super into this manga when it started, but it just kinda lost me and I had to force myself to read this chapter, I'm not even totally sure why.

So she let her go just like that huh?

What is even going on in these comments!?

Someone said the f-word, consequently opening a door for users to share what they believe is the root of their discontent in regards to living in today's society.

I guess this is what happens when a site attracts both lgbt people and the type of people who think the evil "sjws" want to ruin everything. Of course some people are both, but I really don't get that one.

Sorry, I can't even, this art style is just too bad, and that awful uniform design makes it all the worse.

nah i think she is lesbian
didn't she have something with girls before?

She didn't date anyone else but it has shown her reacting to other girls, like during her beach job.

The way the author refuses to allow them to change in any major way

In what way you want them to change ?

Literally any way at all, they are just extremely stagnant characters, and I personally don't find then interesting to read about because it's usually very obvious what they are gonna say and do next.

Shouko and Seri are my actual favourite relationship. They're more grounded than Sakurako's perfect devotion to Kasumi. Shouko and Seri both pull their own weight and are forwardly supportive of each other. The kind of relationship one wants.

Agreed.

This might get me hate, but, personally Ive come to see Sakurako and Kasumi to be the least interesting characters in the story now. The way the author refuses to allow them to change in any major way really hurts their characters in my eyes.

I've only read the first two chapters and so far my impression is that this seems like a bit of a manic pixie dream girl story.

Not enough Mei (and sadly no KotoMei) so this is trash

Kidding aside I do love this ending. Feels a tad bit too fast, would've maybe preferred it to be two chapters, but it just fits the series really nicely. This series was so fun and cute and it's sad to see it go

Here's hoping we get a bonus chapter with the final volume.

"You don't have to understand everything, I don't either", I love that.

This manga was so great, I'm sad to see it go. Sure, it wasn't the most expertly plotted thing in the world, but it didn't have to be. Sometimes a cute little manga were all the queer characters are happy and healthy at the end is all you need.

Eh, I don't think it's boring personally. I know a lot of people on Dynasty are quick to say, "oh these slow burn wholesome stories are so boring", but at the very least I enjoy them.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, it isn't the slow burn that I find boring, actually I kinda prefer slow burn over rushed romance. It's just for me manga like this tend to be filled with chapters where little to nothing happens until the last few chapters, and I prefer stories with actual plots. It's great if others get something out of it, but it just ain't my cup of tea.

I find it amusing how many people here and everywhere think of "feelings" as something akin to God's voice and command that occupies a highest position. Instead of what it actually is, a signal that things are fine or not fine.

The concept of living with friends and finding it more fulfilling than being with some kind of mythical chosen one is an ancient idea going back to the examples of, for example, Epicurus and the monasteries that succeeded. Granted, this is not the same thing, but it's interesting how modern society makes all this seem unusual.

Edit: though I do think perhaps this manga could do better if it touched on real issues like the flaws of the Romanticism ideology that forms the modern imagination of relationships and marriages. We'll have to see if it ever gets there.

Lol, it's hilarious how smart you think you are. Anyway, ignoring all the silly philosophy about marriage going on in these comments, this manga is just boring.

I have two main thoughts, 1) Kaoru is such an intensely unlikeable character that I could never root for them to get together 2) they actually never should have got together, the entire premise would work much better if the two leads learned to move away from their unhealthy codependent relationship
