^ Kokomi isn't "another Ayaka". If I had to compare, Ayaka is more partially clueless ojou-sama in part due to her upbringing and family circumstances with a slight inclination for small pranks and stuff.
Meanwhile, Kokomi is more of an over diligent introvert to the point where she literally quantifies her stress levels and other emotions in points and privately recording it together with her official duties.

So her girlfriend of several years dumped her and married a guy right away? I am always quite confused when I read that kind of storyline in a manga, do people in Japan really get married that sudden?

It's hard to explain properly without touching up on the culture in places with a lot of influences from East Asian cultures. There's a lot of implied expectation for people to get married and have kids; "fulfill your filial piety".
The way marriage is seen is less of a "two people in love getting tied" and is more "two families becoming intertwined" sort of thing. So for some people, going along with the family's decision OR deciding for themselves that this other person is better for various reasons that may either involve the family that they are about to build or their relatives is a higher priority than picking the partner you already have/had.

I mean, those "marriage interviews" (I don't know if that's the right English term for it) are still very common and, unless you're using a matchmaking service, families tend to look for people that they either already have some sort of connection to or people who will bring better connections/opportunities for their family or their would be descendants.
Not saying that there's anything inherently right or wrong with the system, just that there are people who prefer to go along with that instead of going through the trouble of finding a partner themselves not knowing if things would even work out.
It's a whole thing really. It works for some and doesn't for others. Usually, the people involved pretty much decide very early on in those talks if they will get married or not.

Very dumb and not very subtle twist, it's like 10 chapters late to be interesting (it hasn't been "years" since Yuzu-perspective chapter, I think we literally never had one). I'm honestly very disappointed it's that simple, and I'd argue it doesn't even explain her behaviour up to this point very well - you can talk about suppressing feelings all you want but this clearly showed she isn't completely oblivious.

It was not worth to hide all that just to uphold the gimmick of "Minami is dumb" from the last 17 chapters, it doesn't even feel consistent - I certainly don't have that "a-ha" moment that now everything makes sense.

My feelings exactly. It's like what my old writing professor would say about "joke" stories. If you set something up that depends so heavily on the eventual reveal, you're basically creating a joke. The entire framework of your story now depends almost entirely on the punchline and if the punchline isn't deemed worth it the entire story falls apart for the reader. This punchline didn't work for me. Not only is it too late and not very explanatory but it's also so standard.

Same feeling here... The chapter was great in itself, but it's happening way too late and doesn't fit the narrative so far. In the end, I understand this was supposed to be an impactful chapter but it fell completely flat to me. That's a real shame...

Imo, if we didn't have to wait so many months to get to this point this "reveal" would not have felt "too late". We've been made to wait both in the story and irl publication time so it's no wonder that that the suspense has pretty much died down for us who have already made our own conclusions while waiting for a new chapter. Besides, us anticipating Yuzu's side of things while only having had Minami's perspective up until now definitely added to the wait time.

But hey, even with that there were a few subtle hints here. And if you really think about it, the Kouhai tagging along on what would have been their date just so happened to be the catalyst for Yuzu's mask to crack.
Honestly, I somehow can't imagine it cracking if no third party ever brought it up. Unless ofc Minami suddenly stops being useless and straight out tells her buuuuutt... it wouldn't be very gay of her to get straight to the point like that, now would it? XD

So yeah, I don't think the timing for this is too far off

The unnecessarily draconian rules some private Japanese schools have never fail to bring a sigh and an eye roll from me.

A lot of schools in my countries also has rules against going places and doing things out side while wearing the uniforms. Tho not a lot of people care and they normally let simple things slide but if you get caught doing bad stuff you could get suspended or expelled. Apparently, they also include the pictures you post on social media ESPECIALLY if you're wearing the school uniform.

Had a classmate back in college that got suspended for the whole semester because he got caught smoking a cig in uniform not too far away from campus.

I understood her reasoning. Felt bad for her actually, now knowing the full context. There's definitely people who would bristle at their real life relationship or feelings being "reduced" to just "Yuri." Seems she felt it was derogatory, maybe even objectifying--and our MC was certainly doing a lot of that earlier on to the girls at the school, treating them like a show. Mika was already sensitive when she was asked the question, got upset and was dismissive about that usage. She wasn't clear enough since it was an off hand comment that she likely didn't expect to cause a major misunderstanding. Neither of them were in a position to be fully open about their gay feelings, so it kind of got left hanging. Clearly she liked our MC but unfortunately for her, that ship has sailed.

Me thinks Fuyu's objectification of Yuri started after Mika told her that "Yuri only exists in stories". Fuyu gave off more of a baby gay vibes who just recently discovered that it's possible for girls to like girls in her flashbacks

Sadly, I think it probably will end soon. So many yuri manga these days end as soon as the two main characters enter a relationship. I wish they would spend more time exploring the characters after they become a couple because that’s what most of us want to see

At least now the characters actually get together. Back then we could only have characters that stay as homies who are roommates that only ever share side glances and don't kiss (at least not on-panel)
