I'm amazed that not one comment has been made about the massive amounts of pure Engrish that this has. Could the translator not find somebody fluent enough in English to fix this or somthing? It makes it insanely difficult to read...

Hell, this is kinda how real life goes (after you get out of school, that is). Start spending time w someone, pretty soon it's lots of time and then you're living in the same house, etc. The only really formal "confession" after school is pretty much: "Will you marry me?"

Is it cultural? It seems like the Japanese tend towards compartmentalization, so there are divisions between "friend" status and "girlfriend" status, which applies to other parts of life as well. So the "confession" acts as a definitive changing of what box you fit into. In the west, this isn't such a big part of culture in general and things are looked at in a more fluid sense, including romance.

Not that there aren't exceptions in both cases of course, and cultural attitudes themselves have a way of shifting.

After you get out of school, it's pretty much like I describe it. (Unless you're from one of those old fashioned or very wealthy families where you have marriage interviews, etc...)

Everything will be pretty much wrapped up in Chapter 6. Meanwhile, The raws we used were from a digital version that Ichijinsha put out. The actual tank has another omake chapter called "Late Spring" which kinda-sorta ties up a few loose ends that Chap 6 didn't quite get to (but were kind of incidental) and there's 2 4koma on the inside front and back cover underneath the book jacket. I have the tank, but I don't have a decent scanner (and don't want to destroy my only volume, either) but if somebody wants to buy the tank and scan the last omake chapter and the new commentary that Kodama wrote, please feel free and post it to the thread on the Yuri Project Wiki. It's near the top of the YP SFW board.

This series is a slow burn. There are a lot of things going on in it, so it takes some time to develop. It develops into something pretty fantastic, though.

Yes. Keep in mind that this series will be at LEAST 5 volumes. Therefore it will go slowly, but since it's Itou Hachi, this is completely acceptable.

First let me say, I 100% support an artist making a living on their art (my wife is an artist). I have nothing against Ratana having her work on a pay site. That being said: I wish chapters like this (What Does the Fox Say Chapter 2 is in the same boat) - had a tag on them for "teaser chapter" or something like that. I know the first two chapters are free on another site, but I have no desire to sign up on another site and would like to know going into clicking on something that it isn't a real chapter on Dynasty Reader.

If you were asked to delete both chapters why is chapter 1 still up on Dynasty's reader?

one of the funny things about chapter 26 is that Kemari is NOT a competitive sport. The object is to use all the players to keep the ball in the air w/o using your hands or arms (kinda like football -- that's soccer for you 'murikkans).

Fun fact is that it's an insanely old sport dating back to the 7th century AD, Asuka era and the players usually wear clothing believed to be worn in that time period.

I really don't like this series... the art, the characters, everything, it kinda gross me out.

Why do people do this? This contributes absolutely nothing. If you don't like it, a)don't read it and b)don't waste everybody's time by coming in a thread for a manga you DON'T LIKE and telling us you don't like it. Nobody cares. Literally nobody.

Why are we skipping so many chapters?

Probably what hits most is that these 2 girls look sort of like Nozomi and Eli from LoveLive as Lilac draws that couple a LOT. It's still sad, but at the same time, kinda relieving at the same time (for me) that they're actually original characters. Still punches you in the gut, though...
