Okay the way I see it is Fuyuki had a right to skip out on Eri's birthday, and Eri had a right to be upset about it. Things like that happen in friendships. I don't think this little tiff is that big of a deal. The real friendship dynamic game changer came when Eri took the next step in the relationship with her boyfriend and Fuyuki accidentally saw it.
To me it was appearant that Eri's boyfriend asked Fuyuki to skip Eri's birthday, so he could get some quality alone time with his girlfriend. So the question become why did Fuyuki lie about why she was missing Eri's birthday?

I'm fine with a slow burn, as long as we get a solid hook up at the end of this rainbow. I'm talking a romantic kiss or better. None of that implied relationship to come,crap. Like the end of Ranma 1/ 2. 7 seasons, 2 movies, and an OAV, and they never even kissed. The manga ended the same way.
Honestly I've been afraid of a noncommittal ending ever since they took theRomance tag off the story.

^ IDK Isn't gender just social constructs we use to define men and women's rolls. Ranma always identifies as a guy no matter which form he's in. I think he is more biological sex fluid.

Honestly I just find the plot fundamentally unbelievable. You're telling me someone who can whip up an intelligent, human-passing synthetic with full sapience couldn't get funding from corps? Techbro investors would be dumping money on her faster than you can say "cheap labor." And that's not even getting into the idea that someone smart enough to make a sapient robot would go "oh you're just a robot, let me edit your mind now that you're obsolete."

Just incredibly contrived for the sake of the "disturbing" ending.

Honestly you kind of have to have a thick skin, when it comes to things like, plot holes, continuity errors, and flawed and sometimes inexplicable character development, in modern popular media.
My friends and I constantly bicker about movies, because I've disregarded obvious flaws, that ruined the experience for them.
For example, I too thuoght it was B.S. that someone that skilled, in robotics wouldn't be able write her own ticket, but then I shrugged and thought well whatever.
I also thought if Kei-san thought that Marie was just a robot running a program, to simulate love, why did she even bother with her little "breakup speech". She could have shut Marie down for maintenance and removed the "love code" with no fuss or muss.

Was the author trying to get a world record for the most uses of the words "cute" and "fav" in a single chapter or something.
