A lot of lolicon and age gap manga have the repeated debate other consent and statuary rape in an ethical and more standpoint. It happens quite often.

To add on and partially repeat what has been said, the gap itself isn't what people find offensive it's the approach. In the other story mentioned the character was first of all older, second more mature which lampshaded the gap in a lot of ways. Further more MC here seems to have a fixation on the younger girls age in a way that most find unsettling, making it seem like she's explicitly attracted to the young girl for her immaturity rather than simply accepting that she is afterward. Her seeming fixation also in forces the idea that's she's completely disregaurding ethical boundary that many characters who moreso do later into a story and usually less eagerly.
Imagine if the MC was a male and the story takes a far more uncomfortable tone.

It's not to say it's a bad story, it's too early to decide anything yet it's just setting off a tone which some people aren't comfortable with.

So the question is, what's the story with Qiu Tong's apparently absent parents.

They talked about it a bit the first time Sun Jing visited her house. Her parents work a lot so they're not around much. The chapter show how nice the place she lives is so I take it the typical story of "rich parent working so much that they neglect their child". It hurts Qui Tong (like how she's misses her father playing with her or envies that lively family) but she's a sweet girl and doesn't want to burden them.

And same actually, the 10 years thing was me thinking about it for the last 10 years without ever writing anything, though less diligentry then you I'm afraid. I've kept it to one story but a giant grand story so I havent been able to focus on one part. I bounced from idea to idea, going along with different scenes and scenarios and so the story grew with me.
I'm trying to focus on the structure of the story universe for now but even that has so many subsets I feel like a kid with ADD.

And maybe you should go back to some of them, the ones you thought had potential probably did and still do. :)

If it makes you feel better I've been working on (technicall) this story for at least 10 years if not more, though I've yet to finish a chapter.

And second if the first even counts. ;p
I was in middle and played with it for about a year. Then I realized I knew nothing about almost any of deeper themes and they were far bigger than my 7th grade self so I decided to scrap it. Not before sending my teacher a chapter of lemon instead of a hw assignment though. ("<.<)

I think a word that fit this story is modest. To me it was like a fine dessert. It wasn't over done, not sickly sweet, but still fine tasting even more so because of it.

I loved the way the author drew Momoko's eyes too. I think that they captured that.

And a mixed but fantasy overall, psychological if I can pull it off, with a bit of action, romance, and drama here and there.

Sorry for the late reply, the no notifications thing is a little hard for me. And lol I was painting my room, haven't done a physical parking in years, though I took ceramics in high school. Most of my work now is focused around a book idea that im trying to put together.
Edit: lol a teacher once called us (Floridians) America's p*nis. ;p It's not so bad once you get used to it. (Though some never do.)

The story you've created, though is frustrating at times, it's quite beautiful. Through it I've gained a lot of respect for you, and admiration toward your abilities. It was something I looked forward to reading every week, and I enjoyed your comments at the end as well. She is a first year student but I'm not sure if it's high school or middle school - I don't see it say anywhere - she looks more like a middle school girl to me - but maybe she is just small - what's anyone think?

I really want to think that she is in high school. Yet she would have only 15-16 years, but it's more credible that if she have only 12-13...

And yes, this second part also liked me more (much more) than the first. The first still makes me feel that there is some abuse of power and emotional blackmail on how the relationship develops (porn separately). Here, at least, there is some moderation and awareness of what that age gape and their roles as teacher and student means between them.

All the previous teacher experiencesaid she remembered were from elementary school. She's a first year middle schooler.

This story is really...stereotypical. Dark is cool, but this ain't it. Too cheesy.

Everything is cliche because there isn't truely a story that hasn't been done. It's not the storyline itself thats bad, it's just done really badly. I usually like dark characters like the MC but everythings just so matter of a fact without any depth. I like this author and I want to see where it goes but regardless of the rest, this isn't her best work.

I like the idea of Donuts and Ice. (Still a bit confused about how the naming process went down.)
Mew is Donuts first relationship and they got into really quickly. I like how they got together but I wouldn't think less of her if things didn't work out. With the type of writing style it probably will but I wouldn't blame her if she maybe wanted to try being with someone else (that shes known longer, probably has a deeper relationship with) before running off with a new(ish) girl friend abroad.

Last chapter Yuki found Rin's letter in Akari's pocket, now all of the sudden Yuki decided to start talking to Rin again and even had Akari help her get his attention while showing Akari how much Rin cares for Yuki. So many coincidences.
