I'd suggest at least skimming the chapters leading up to the school trip. Getting a better picture of Tomoko's life and personality makes her changes all the more satisfying.
Plus it's fun to see how early you can spot characters in the background who later become important.

Time for some oyakodon.

I think my favorite part is Weiss recording the wincest at the end.
