hmm, good question. I'd say it depends what (my/your/others') mood is at that moment. for example, if you are in a silly mood, does plot really matter?

for me personally, I would say artwork is like bait on a fishing pole's hook. if it is really nice and/or graphically intense, I take the bait and am more inclined to read the rest of the story. as I read the story, if the plot is craptastic or illogical (assuming I am in a semi-serious mood), I stop reading. otherwise I start weighing the merits of character development, plot development, ability to draw the reader into the story, sexual intensity (if i am feeling kinky) and overall satisfaction after reading the story.

I would argue that really good stories are very strong in a majority of the points I have listed above. but this is my opinion and others may beg to differ.

Btw, what kind of genres do you focus on (i.e. sci-fi, fantasy, romance, mysteries, etc.) ? You'll have to forgive me for asking the question this way because I think of GL/Yuri as a sub-genre within the broader realm.

even dumber question, was Maka-Maka taken off the reader (for licensing reasons)?

Boy, oh boy, oh boy... this has been the BEST DECEMBER EVER!!!! OK I am exaggerating, but it has been really good. this release totally shocked me. I kind of expected something to come out in January. nice surprises are everywhere I guess.

first, matching two otakus up. priceless! do you think they will have Elisha join the manga club to confront Honoka? Can you imagine it... East vs. West. Otaku-style!

So after my wall of text up there I have to admit I'm pretty angry at Mei for trying to use her sister's sexual feelings to trap her, but I feel terrible for Mei because she has no life unless someone needs her or tells her what to do.

Ai and Mari definitely look alike and to some degree, Asami and Onoda look similar. When I came up with the chapter/couples list, I did reread a few of the chapters because I kept mistaking Mari for Ai.

i agree that Mei is being selfish as well, but I don't think she realizes that Yuzu is trying to move forward.

Mei is being heavy-handed in her treatment towards Yuzu by pushing her away. When Yuzu does something that Mei does not approve of or if Yuzu gives Mei space, she (Mei) quickly pulls her back by little acts of romance. I think that Mei needs to be loved and/or needed so much that she cannot see Yuzu moving away and dismisses Yuzu when she tries to be/play the big sister role. Therefore Mei does not realize that Yuzu is trying to move forward.
