So, just a little background info. Both the OP and the ED were written by the director and are key plot elements.
If you've ever listed to the full ED song lyrics it's actually a full time line of the series. What happens before the anime started, what happens during it, and what happens after. Someone explained in full here, https://i.imgur.com/7Ifx5mB.png
You'll notice that when Akane and Rikka are together in the time line the song lyrics say "connected" and that happens at the end of the song.
You'll also notice that the song mentions Rikka breathing. The last few lines of the final voice drama is Akane talking about her's and Rikka's breath. You can download the voice drama here https://nyaa.si/view/1131239

In the last episode of the anime Rikka wishes to be with Akane forever, and that her wish will never come true. Because she wants Akane to leave so she can learn to love herself and face society in a healthy way. But, this doesn't mean they can never see each other again, just that Akane has to grow up first. Which the song lyrics suggests that she does. As well as the OP song's live action music video, which is real life Akane, and we see her start making friends.

It's actually kind of crazy how much attention to the little details went into Gridman. Over a year before the anime aired the director wrote a yuri web novel. It stars Akane's two classmate friends. Ramo and Ako. And they show up in Gridman's anime as well. The novel mentions an out or services water fountain and that shows up in the Gridman anime as well.

Any actual Yuri in the show?

The whole story more or less revolves around Akane and Rikka's relationship, and the reason Akane gets saved in the end is because of how Rikka feelings about her. Rikka's one wish is that she can be with Akane forever.

Though, Akane leaves because she has to learn to face the real world on her own and get over her crippling depression. But, if you listen to the voice dramas which aired along side the anime, Akane actually comes back to be with Rikka.

By the title of the next chapter, and where the 4-koma manga left on the most recent translated chapter, I am guessing next time we'll now about some of Shimamura's past. Wonder if it would mostly be that or if the day by day format will be repeated? I quite liked it, and I wanna read about Shima's slighy coloured 10 days.

the secret word was "dancouga"? I didn't botther to check back to be sure, may be it was just a reference to that anime or perhaps a different character will win whatever the prize for that.

I was on the side that the story was giving indication that it could possibly go sour, but looking at it's baka-updates page (only one volumen, the lack of tragic-like tags, the title being "futari arcadia") yeah this is just floof

well considering part of the title is "shelterd girl" I doubt it will last super long the gender confusion (I give it ine chapter, two tops) and it will focus more on just the way she has being raised, as we can see from that resume bit. Which also makes me think that when the reveal happens she will react with shock about it as "shelterd" character, probably she hasn't even consider the idea of a romantic relationship with another girl.
As for the handsome, I agree that she is very obviously a girl but I think She is drawn androgynous enough that I could see a similar design use for a boy character in a different manga.

you know I haven't read citrus only watched some episodes and nothing against it, but I really wish it was just some yuri gyaru comedy without the telenovel-ish drama cause I did like Yuzu and her friend, Harumi I think?

I agree that this story already burned its suspension of disbelief rather early on, but I feel that if you don't take it to seriously it has its charm.

I wonder if page 18 was a jab at studen/teacher stories or more of bit of a reallity check to the audience for them to not mix fiction with reallity, and that that kind of relationship aren't at all like a manga or something.

Anyway I think probably next chapter won't introduced a new girl and will rather re-affirm the first girl feelings, BUT if new girls get introduced I would also like a delinquent and/or gyaru like a couple of comments mentioned before

No male romantic interest for Carole and Tuesday, even though Tuesday had a crush on a guy but it lasted one episode. But there's nothing between Carole and Tuesday and it doesn't plan to have something more than friendship between them (and that's for the best). I mean the plot, the characters' development and the songs are on point and a romance blooming between them would've spoiled everything imo.

ah well, could have done without the one off crush but I am at least glad they didn't introduced a male romantic interest, and can't say I am too bother the girls didn't developed romantic feeling for each other, wasn't expecting it tbh, though I did have a small hope that it could happen.

I think I should re-read the first chapter. cause gotta be honest I think I loke girl #2 and #3 a bit more, though I agree that it seems the first girl is the only one who actually has feelings for her while the other two just lack proper affection

in the Special/Adventures manga (and a couple of characthers in the games) all the main character are named after the versions of the Pokémon games, so there are characters named Silver, Sapphire, Platinum/Platina, Black, X, Moon, probably Shield soon enough and the like, with a couple of expections like the protags of the Black and White 2 arc, who are using fake names, and I think the character Y has a full name and it's only a nickname, like the one the friends characters give you in-game.

I also ship them with different characters (HikaLala and Elemado) but honestly the StarPre team is the kind of group of characters that I like shipping between all of them tbh.
